Race Driver: Grid

I had this problem switching to a new resolution for my new monitor. Infact when the game opened at 640x480 my PC kept crashing. Anyahoot, go into My Documents/Codemasters/GRID Demo/hardwaresettings/hardware_settings_config (open with wordpad) and changed the line that looks like:

<graphics_card>
<resolution width="1680" height="1050" aspect="normal" fullscreen="true" vsync="1" oldWidth="1680" oldHeight="1050">

I changed both the new and old resolution so that it would work properly. Hope this helps.

On a side not, going from a unbranded 17" monitor (with a dvi to vga adaptor) to a 20" Asus Widescreen with proper DVI is immense!! GRID is so much sharper and clearer and with widescreen its so fun!!!

Installed this demo and it runs very smooth. Running on a 8800GTS / E6600 at 1900 x 1280 (this was selected by default) on a Dell 2407WFP. Not experiencing any issues with the G25 that some people have had either....result.

Pre-ordered from that place that gives you the DB9 free on the week of release. Really looking forward to this game.

Although the game officially isnt designed with SLI in mind can anyone with an SLI setup confirm if they do actually get any benifits?

Thanks yes 1920x1200. I am going to be away with work over the first week of June so I am not in a mad rush but none the less am really looking forward to sitting down for a good session with this game when I get back.

I think 1.37 is a good time, i did a 1.47 and i thought that was good.

LOL 1.37

All I can say is... good luck.

A good time is a 1.43
A great time is a 1.41
Anything below that is inhuman

My best is a 1.41.02 using a gamepad and all assists switched on. I've raced about a 1000 miles online and havent met anyone who can come close to that. However on the xbox leaderboard there's a couple of 39's... which I'm guessing must be possible if you are a god and also manage to race without all the assists.

Switching to manual gears seems to be a little faster in places, for example when you're going flat out at the bottom of the hill it sometime's auto switches up a gear and then down for the bend when in fact it's faster to stay in the lower gear.

As for TC, SC, etc, they are really vital to driving with a pad so until someone posts the perfect setup for my g25 I'm leaving them on.
