Boxter 3.2S or Z4 3.0?

The 911 isn't a sports car, its a supercar.
The 911 isn't a supercar. The Carrera 2/2S is the definitive sports car, and whilst the Turbo/GT3/GT2 may offer supercar performance, I still wouldn't label them as supercars. They lack the flamboyance and excitement you get from a proper supercar, such as a Lambo or Ferrari.

Can we please get over the poor man's Porsche thing and keep to the facts..

God, talk about back track, this is how it all started Tommy!

When I want to go down B roads with Sun in my face and Wind in my hair, its the Boxster, when I want brilliant performance and pant wetting speed and handling I would have a 911.

Get it?

911 Cabriolets?

I really can't see the point in this argument, the Boxster is designed from ground up to be a roadster, and sold as such. The 911 is not.

The Z4 is a direct competitor to the Boxster, the 911 is not.

Lol this is what I was trying to say! Well spoken that man!

I challenge you to tell me what is wrong with what I'm saying.

Everything. You are making a fool of yourself, and the fact you drive probably one of the best examples of badge snobery there is - a VW Golf with the worst trim level and a terrible, gutless engine, serves only to make your ill informed, ridiculous poor mans Porsche crap more amusing.

The Porsche 911 is a performance Coupe. The Porsche Boxster is a mid engined Roadster. They are different cars for different people. A 911 owner isn't going to want a Boxster and generally the sort to consider a Boxster probably isn't after the things a 911 would provide him with. A 911 Cabrio is a dynamically flawed roofless 911 - it is NOT a Roadster.

If you were stonking rich, you wouldn't buy a Boxter over a 911 would you? If you wanted the cabriolet aspect there's the 911 Turbo Cabriolet which is probably a rapist on crack.

Why wouldnt you?
Fox is another believer of what you are saying, if you are rich you buy the best and only the best!!!!!!!!!
this is not the case, when you are rich its generally because you are sensible with your money, you buy what you like without being overly crazy. you have a grip on spending and know you can get what you want without spending top dollar.

my sister owns a boxster, she could easily afford a 996 (well, that was current at the time) she just didnt want a 996. she wanted a smallish roadster, so got that

she needed a 4x4 too to pull the horses. she could have afforded all sorts, but got a shogun for a few grand. there is not need to spend your full whack on the car you get.

i bagged quite a few thousand after the sale of my last car and then bought a £900 golf. just get what you want

Wow. I didn't realise this post would cause such heated debate.

Thank you to those who have highlighted some informed differences between the two cars.
