Battlefield Bad Company

Was red faction multiplayer like that. If the damage was random, think of the amount of network traffic communicating where every single item of debris landed.
It will allready strain the server just with what they have implemented which does sound similar to the bf2 engine, we have something similar in the pr mod and its capped to 256 destructible objects

It varied, some games you could blast a tunnel under the ground into the other base, other time after a certain amount of holes were made before it stopped.

I wanted to like the beta but I agree with the other posters... it was pretty meh :(

however the imba sniper rifle was fun :p

Its annoying cause it had the potential to be good. Once you get past the destructible environments its a pretty bland game. And the destruction is hardly dynamic either, all the buildings have set bits that blow up.

You can get destructible buildings in bf2 right now and it operates in basically the same way as this game it sounds like. It works best when its a wall they are hiding behind and you just blow the wall up till they have nothing :D

I had high hopes for BF:BC having extensively played BF2:MC on the 360 previously. But the truth is DICE have transformed the game to be more like COD4 and now it's lost some of the sandbox feel.

As for the destruction, it's one of the major selling points for DICE, but ultimately it's just a gimmick and you soon forget about it.

I would take no notice of this thread m8, play the demo and judge it by that people are complaining about a beta of it, you can't judge till you play the final game.
