I've been trying to get to sleep since about 11.30.
Drunken 15 year olds in the street have been keeping me awake yelling up and down the street.
"Don't do that Sam, that car is really rare" prompted me to look out of the bedroom window... 'Sam' was laying on the roof of my 1980 Mini Clubman Estate. Half asleep, grabbed my dressing gown and whisked outside. He wasn't on the roof when I got there...
"What the **** are you doing!?!" says I naturally. "What the **** you on about, I weren't on no roof. Why the **** would I go on the roof of a mini?" came the reply. His sober mate actually apologised on his behalf (I think he actually lives in our street). I was a bit PO'd (as I'm sure you can all appreciate!), and laid the verbal on to this drunkard a bit thick.
He continued to deny all knowledge, and then out of nowhere punched me in the jaw. Now, I'm not a small bloke, so I don't know what he trying to achieve. When he realised the punch hadn't even staggered me, he looked as his mate and made a sharp exit.
Fortunately no damage done to the roof. I'll have to check the quarters in the morning, but they're well built it's fair to say.
He mate actually came back while I was checking the roof and apologised again, and check that both I and the car were OK. I wish more kids were like that.
Anyway, I'm not going to sleep tonight. 4 years ago or so, my 1100 Clubman Saloon was torched by my next door neighbour (living at a previous address fortunately), so it's left me feeling a little paranoid (not to mention cursed).
/clutches torque wrench in one hand and cigarettes in other...
