Hi, I want to clock my AMD processor, just a little bit as it will be my first time. I have a stock cooler, but a cold room, so my temps are quite low.

I was wondering, what frequency and voltage i should use to try and clock to around 2.7 - 2.8. Currently at 2/5ghz

Kind regards Ben

Dunno if yours is the same die as mine (a 5600), but I just upped the main clock from 200 to 224. That was using "auto" voltage, which seemed fine as the limiting factor was heat. The CPU starts to make mistakes at about 55 degrees. You might be able to go further than I did by taking manual control of voltages. (note down what Auto has set it too before starting, use that as your baseline. If heat is OK, see if clock will go further on more volts. If heat does become a problem, try to get the same clock on less volts.

Can you post screenies of the CPU, memory and SPD tabs of CPUZ so that we can see your current settings?

Those temps are probably wrong :p

That's colder than the temperature outside!

Contrary to what others say, I would conject that that is possible (if unlikely) if using a heatpipe cooler. A heatpipe is pretty much a passive phasechange loop. And folks also forget the fan subjects the heatsink to windchill.

They do look a bit hectic though.
My 5600 @ stock under an Asus SilentKnight II idles at 25-28ish.

i got the EE 4800+ i managed to clock to 2.9Ghz with 1.4v, if are going to stay with the stock cooler you may get 2.7Ghz. buy a new cooler like frezzer 64 you could get the same speed. make sure you got some money in your back pocket just in case :D
