How many calories in a Tesco Sandwich?!

the majority of pre packaged sandwiches from garages or supermarkets are crap tbh :]

I just dropped in to a small Tesco and picked up a basic, £1.10 "Deep Fill Cheese & Onion" sandwich. As I was eating it I looked at the nutritional information and

Less than a third of mens recommended daily calorie intake... Sounds about average for a lunch?

Stop being such a girl.

And the bread in Tesco sandwiches is like a couple of pieces of carpet. So dry it makes me gag.

It's mainly cheese and mayo and you're suprised it contains calories and fat? Coming up next, shock horror, non-decaf coffee contains caffiene

The one that shocked me a few years ago was that tea contained caffeine, I didn't understand it - I thought it was just coffee :( I was 12 though :p

Being a bit of a gym freak I read all the nutritional contents before I buy things - I tend to keep away from ready made sandwiches purely for that reason, but I try and keep sat fats down to a minimum anyway, and as much as I love cheese (it comes with the territory of being a frog :p) I keep away from it as much as I can as it's just very naughty - I don't keep away from it completely, but I just don't eat as much of it - it's a treat!

I don't like all the treatment agents they put in their bread, and there are just so many additional bits and pieces that it just doesn't need. 633cals is around 1/5 of what I take in a day as I'm hovering around 3k cals at the moment. It doesn't surprise me how calorific these ready made sandwiches are. Somehow they make the "low fat/calorie" ones taste horrid? I don't know how they do that...

Exactly how I think of cheese too - it is definitely not an everyday food - maybe once or twice a week maximum.

Apart from cottage cheese which I eat all the time!

I tend to use it on many things... baked potatoes, avocado salad, with some tuna... I sometimes blend some fruit in with it, I do sometimes put a touch of honey in it. It's quite versatile.

cottage cheese is horrid!
quark > cottage cheese :p
