Top 5 Footballers of Your Lifetime

Ferdinand was better than Sol in 2002. It was a travesty that Sol was named and he wasn't, he spent half his time covering Sol.
 
My age means i haven't experienced some of the greats from the 80's. But heres mine:

1) Zola (one of the best premiership players ever, played for chelsea :P)
2)Desailly
3)Henry
4)Cech
5)Beckham (depatable with zidane, rivaldo, messi, ronaldinho and c.ronaldo [depsite how much i hate him]
 
Hmmm, Henry maybe should have been in my list, maybe with Mijhalovic too, a lot of players I could add to the list really.

come on, three chelsea players? Buffon> Cech, Maldini > Desailly, Zola you can have....just. Zidane >>>>> Bechham

The players I do generally talk about are, for example Carrick who has been the best English CM this season, Ronaldo who has easily been the best player in the World this season and Ferdinand who, for me, has easily been the best defender in the World.

I do also talk about other players, but I'm not gonna rave about them if I don't think they warrant it. For example, I'll happily rave about players like Carvalho, Fabregas, Torres, Gerrard, Essien, Robbie Keane etc...

First real memory of football is the 1986 world cup so I have only included players after this.

Worrying that there are no Englishmen in the list.
 
Id happily have players like Henry and Cech in mine if they werent such low life charachters on occasion

They both have undoubted skill but sometimes I think they should be better than trying to con the ref into a decision because they are so skillful (ie they shouldnt need to rely on conning anyone)

I know he has had horrendous injuries but I really wish Cech would stop wearing that skull cap - if he is fit enough to play the game then he shouldnt need it (I guess its similar to Davids glasses due to his eye complaint)

Again Beckham was an incredible player but the gloss is taken off by all his posing off the pitch etc etc (and the fact that sentimentality has to be the only reason he is still in the England team)

Zidane would be on the list apart from THAT headbutt, but then I guess I cant include Roy Keane / Viera because even though they were real class

Thierry Henry - Pace and Goals, in the top 3 greatest ever Arsenal players
Dennis Bergkamp - Vision, anf superb goals, 2 stick in the mind versus Newcastle and for Holland against Argentina. First and only true World Class player Arsenal have signed.
Marco Van Basten - Awesome
Diego Maradona - Hand of God, but an amazing player.
Davor Suker -A Left foot that was pure sex.

Maradona was the only one I didn't get to see play live.

Cech and Schmeichel are better than Buffon. Desailly got over 100 caps for France for a reason and I said Beckham was depatable. But he's made england win some games all by his own at times, and i rate him higher for his importance to a team and ispirational performances, not to say zidane hasnt done some amazing stuff, but i just feel Beckham was too inspirational to his team.

In fairness, Cech said he would wear it for the full length of this season anyway. This was said at the start of the season, he also said once this season was up he would rather play without it, but will wait for what the doctors say.

I just felt bad naming all Utd hahahaha - and also I just couldnt quite bring myself to name Viera, just because of the club he played for over here and Kaka was just so astounding last season
