All New Summer 2008 Transfer Merry Go Round/Rumour Mill

Dam too many posts to go through, does anyone know the current ronaldo situation ?

papers say today hes on the verge of walking out?

Im not one for believing papers so has there been any interviews in the last few days or anything ?

It's about time Fergie put some faith in our youth for backup players. Silvestre did well in the few games he featured, but within a few minutes I rediscovered why I don't like him, and it was him winning the ball and then thumping it up the pitch without even looking up. In the few minutes he has played, he did this several times, instantly losing possession for us. He is still a big headless chicken. And the scary thing is after next season, he'll be entitled to a testimonial match as he will have been with us 10 years! That is incredibly scary.

The odd thing would be that it's a step down. The only players better in positions at Real is their goalkeeper, Casillas, their RB, Ramos.

not really, especially considering the class of players and the style of football played...ronald gets ball, does nice flik, cute pass to o'shea, Brown, Silvestre, giggs, fletcher, AND we've lost the ball again...i genuinely think that he gets frustrated when he is making the runs, passes, crosses and the rest of the team simply fluff it. Put him in a technically more capable team and he would probably do even better than he does now...

too easy to say that - the thing about the united set up is it is ultimately designed for him to excel. that's why the two years of tripe they churned out were probably worth it to create what they did. however, imagine him with robben or the others conventional ball players, which will create a problem - or at least a required change in his style.

I said Ramos, who would be there instead of Brown.

Fletcher and O'Shea are subs, and Giggs doesn't play often anymore. Silvestre played 1 game this season.

Come on, a bit of common sense.

im sorry i just say it as i see it.. and i do see ROnaldo getting frustrated because of it.

but on the flipside i am not trying to say that ronaldo never loses the ball or does anything silly on the pitch either. So he does need to work on that and his temprement and how he deals with it... but he may want to up and leave before this happens.

I can understand what you are saying (Nickg) if it was the Real Madrid of 3-4 years ago with Zidane, Figo, Solari, all their technically brilliant players. Its not the same story now. I'd say Man United have more technically superior players to Real Madrid now. The only reason he'd want to go to Real is to achieve his lifelong dream.

Why stop there? What about our reserves? Youth set ups? Under 18's?
Ronaldo doesn't play with those players you named, and when he did, they played well this season.

Ronaldo must be getting really frustrated winning everything, what a terrible position to be in.

Man U have the better players, but Real Madrid are the biggest team in the World. Players like Ronaldo dream of playing there. It's as simple as that.

He can go there and do his flicks and tricks all he likes without having to worry about someone two-footing him in the knee-cap, not to mention the weather, culture and what not, all which will be preferable to Ronaldo.

He's won the Prem, CL, FA Cup, CC and the Charity Shield (:D) at Man U, maybe he feels he'd done all he needs to and would like a new challenge? I think he will stay at Man U for now, but to be honest I wouldn't be at all surprised if he did announce he wanted to move.

I think Ronaldo is going to walk away from manchester United i feel sorry the fans they where all saying how good he is this and that but ronaldo does not have one loyalty in his blood. If he want to stay he would not say I will make a decisions about my future in the next couple of days he would have said I am staying at united and everything would go away but unlucky united you can look out for another RM this summer like you did when beckham left the club United will never be as big as Real Madrid check their history and compare it to Uniteds.
