In fact no, i read that wrong.

I didnt say it was a weaker opinion. It's his opinion and he can have it if he believes it.

you didn't just say it was a weaker opinion, but that by having that opinion they are a weaker person! That I'm afraid is not very respectful in my opinion, but then I'm a weaker person so your view is obviously more important.

yantorsen if you're deliberately trying to rile me up, then please stop.

If you do genuinely want to have a discussion, then please be sure to accurately refer to what i wrote above, and understand it.

I did not say by having that opinion of me, that he is a weaker person. I said that I believe that by believing in God, he is of weaker mind. At no point have i based my opinion on fact.

I did not say my view was more important, you obviously just want to cause arguments for arguments sake.

Everyone's entitled to there opinion and that is where a lot of atheists fall over, as they wont religion removed.
Excuse me. No one is more evangelical than the evangelist themselves. Believers even have a word for people that have been seduced by their preaching. They are called the unevangelized. We also have a word for them, but I don't think I'm allowed to repeat it on a family forum.

If you haven't realised already I don't believe in god :p

Big bang theory for example...

How can nothing be made into something?

Scientist have pure faith in this notion.

It's not nothing, it's energy to matter. There is also observable exidence that the universe is expanding- red shift. It's not concrete, but it's a theory that fits the data. There is infinately more evidence that the universe started out small and is getting bigger, than there is for a magic man.

I was just thinking, rather random but hey.

Time can be scientifically proven to exist, it can be measured and repeated etc.

So that means that the scientific method can essentially prove something exists that doesn't?

Have I missed something?

God is created by man and his consciousness.

Just like Time is a manmade concept.

Gods were inevitably created by man to fill in the gaps, tidy up the loose ends, take away the fear, grief, doubt and sense of injustice!

It must be nice to believe in a god, probably like taking valium all day everyday. Warm and fuzzy but in the knowledge you're not really firing on all cylinders.
