My First Car :)

In regards to your car, congratulations! Sounds like you worked hard (I hope!) for it. Your insurance quote is fair given your age, experience and the car.

Your online business sounds too good to be true for someone your age, but at the same time very impressive. How long have you been running? How are you predicting your sales? Linear or seasonal trend setting? Is this a long-term or short-term plan? And finally, to be a bit nosey: what are your labour costs and more importantly, are you brave enough to provide a link to your site? ;)

I was part of the Christmas eBay Wii selling phenomenon and whilst I made a profit, sourcing them (in the UK), travel, time and selling expenses were too exhaustive in comparison to the profit. Even if I had the capital to sell on a larger scale, I would still be relying on sourcing. Sounds like you have that covered though, so good job in exploiting that.

I picked up on the way you were writing about money in your other posts, and just brushed it off. Then you randomly post that...

Oh dear.

IMO, good on you for buying a car you like, you can clearly afford it and the insurance, just be sensible when driving it and you're laughing :)

People pay £1500 to insure Saxos and things, so why not £500 more for something a whole lot more desirable? :)

gotta say i agree with this

why pay £1500 or whatever to insure a Saxo, when you can pay £2000 and get something much nicer.

A large litre engine, its a 110bhp 1.8. It's nearly double what I paid at 19 for a 2 litre Mondeo, modifications declared.

Not really a fair comparison though as I would assume you had been driving for approx 2 years and had no claims discount from your Xantia ?

Had a look around for this web page and can't see one that doesn't also stock psp/xbox360 stuff etc. However for £19.99 it looks like is the memory card reader you need to be able to play pirate games from a micro sd card or the gadget that lets you cheat in games. I would be pretty sure however that it is legal to sell either of these.

To be fair I don't think £2000 is that bad. I paid £1200 to insure a Hyundai Pony worth naff all, sure I was 17 not 19 but that was back in '99.

Anyway we seem to have moved on from the OP's car now so to have a more relevant input- OMFG I like maxed out my ISA for the year, and I've got a car wiv 1.8 leeters of engines. WTF LOL

;)

I can see where your coming from but i was also quoted £1400 for a Peugeot 306 1.4 Miami. The insurance admittedly does cost more then the car :p however insurance cost : Weekly wage ratio is good so its really not a issue. i just wanted a good looking car with abit of performance ( 0-60 = 10secs ) and something different from the usual first cars. I can also use it to get some experience before i start to spend some real money on a car.

is that £2000 a total 1 off payment price? or monthly?

how you going to be paying it??

Use Bell insurance and their 10 month bonus accelerator, might actually save you a few hundred if you're paying that. Also remember to add your parent(s) as drivers.

The flashcarts are not illegal items; they can be used for many legal purposes, such as homebrew, mp3 playback, the like. It is only another function that can be used to play pirated games.
