Best hardware related customer service you've recieved?

Dell oddly enough, broken laptop arrived on Tuesday, courier arrived Wenesday and the laptop was back Friday

Logitech also are very good

I think the best in terms of what was required was Swiftech even though they are US based, i was missing some barbs and i had replacements within a week posted from the US to here

I can't mention Hazro yet as it's not meant to go public "yet" (I will say though they have been very generous and have called me on varous occasions to keep me updated on the current status of things!).

I will mention Dell though when I got my 2007WFP first, they understood the issue that the courier dropped the box and refunded me £30 compensation and replaced the screen.

Pretty good if you ask me!

Logitech has also been very nice on replacements, I have phoned them before on mice/keyboards that are 1-2 years old that started to fault and they sent out new ones with a simple phone call :)

Antec have been pretty good for me replacing side panels and a door on my P180 rev 2, with stuff sent from Holland and trackable all the way. No need to return the broken bits either.

Praise due to Corsair as well for a quick turn around on some faulty RAM.

I suspect that **** are a competitor at some level or other but I bought a Gericom 19" monitor from them in 2005 at the then bargainaceous price of £199. It went kaput in late 2006 and I went in to see what the return procedure was. My quesry got blank looks from the shelf-stackers and they wnet straight to the store manager who told me he didn't have any 19" ones left, so he would swap it there and then for a 20" widescreen, which was actually more expensive, but it was the best he could do. I thought that was quite decent of them really.

Apevia. Sent me a replacement front USB panel for nothing all the way from the states after my Nephew broke the usb posts on my old aspire case.

Only had to deal with Hiper and Seagate. Both were perfectly adequate receiving a replacement within 7 working days.

OcUK shop have been excellent with their RMA service though.

Hipers customer service were pretty good. I had plenty of dealings with them and knew there customer service guy on a first name basis.

I was also impressed with Dell's monitor swapout. phoned at 4pm, replacment monitor 8AM the next day.

XFX is a worst ever.

3Com!....

I'll explain!!.. I bought a 3Com Broadband Router from here (as did a collogue of mine) when they were in the 'This Week Only' deals last year!...

When we received our respective packages we both found that neither had their PSU's in the box!... There was a slot in one end for them!.. but nothing was there!..

Contacted OcUK as you do!.. and (I think it was Yewen) was very helpful, but unfortunately as these were the last two in the shop (End of line stock) apparently the PSU's were no where to be seen!!...

So whilst we raised an RMA I thought I'd contact 3Com to see what the spec of the PSU was to see if I could use a Generic one.. I was stunned when the Nice lady on the phone said she would send me (and my collogue) a PSU (each) as they had some spares (due to the End-of-line status of the Router)...

I expected a charge for this, if only P&P... Nope!.. She sent em out 'Next Day Delivery - By 10am' to us FREE OF CHARGE!!...

I did find one on t'interweb for sale (official one not a knock off!!) and it was £25 plus P&P...

Very Happy!... Needless to say I didn't need the RMA!..

If only other Hardware Manufacturers would be so generous!!..

Sim :)

Logitech are awesome. Twice I have bought expensive mice (MX 1000 and MX revolution) cheap (£20) without cradles and chargers. Both times logitech have sent me new ones for free. Just bought the wireless keyboard you normally get with the mx revolution for £19. Im hoping that it will work with my bluetooth dongle as its BT and my mx rev is RF. If not may have to grovel to logitech again :D

Without a doubt it has to be Buffalo.

My wireless router went down after 4 months use, i emailed them and they replied within 5 minutes, the next day there was a shiny new router and a free wireless USB stick banging on my front door.

The courier took my knackered one away and i have been a happy bunny ever since.

I must admit that until i started coming to the OCUK forums i would never have RMA'd anything...i was very much a "oh well its broken, i shall buy a new one but not the same brand" type of guy.

Mine would actually be from Microsoft, when my 360 red ringed. Their call centre assistant was very helpful and knowledgeable, explaining everything. Then once I sent it off, I recieved it back repaired and fully functional after about 6 days or so.

Logitech, mouse developed a fault. Logged it with them and had a replacement within 2 days, they've also had my business for mice and keyboards everytime since :)

Crucial I guess.
Never been overly impressed with any of the RMAs I've done in terms of manufacturers (IBM, DFI) due to the long wait and having to ship stuff off to Holland at my expense.

FWIW, I've always found the HP website extremely useful in terms of finding drivers and guides on how to change parts etc (a godsend in my former job as Print Technician)

The worst experience I have had was probably the result of me being a cheapskate and not getting Special Delivery for returning a hard drive to W.D. I still paid 2nd class recorded and threw away the receipt after two weeks. Checked back around a month later, and WD's website stated that they hadn't got the drive. :/

The best was Iiyama years ago - rang up one morning stating a problem, a new replacement moniter was at my door the next afternoon. I can't fault that at all. Very quick.

Usually things take around a week or two to get back to me (faulty PSU, MB, Ram all in a period of a month).
