Best hardware related customer service you've recieved?

My laptop charger died a few days ago. I spoke to an agent using there chat system and they sorted out a new charger very quick and it arrived next day. I've also had good service from logitech. Sennheiser are also good

Dell for me - Recieved a DOA Inspiron laptop around 18mths ago with their boggo 1yr RTB warranty - i could tell the screen was duff (you could hear Windows install screen) and i informed them.

They sent out a mobile engineer who met me at my work place WITHIN 3 HOURS(!!!) of making the initial call. He fixed the laptop with a shiny new screen within an hour. :) I later then realised the screen was a £60 optional extra higher res version... Good times!! :D

Worst: Acer (Esplex) - RMA'd an early 22" monitor which was DOA and End of line from OCUK. They had it for 4 months!! Every call to their crappy call centre took 25+ minutes in which every time they were 'waiting on parts'. I only ever got a refund when i dialled their number incorrectly and inadvertenty got through to a manager!! :O

Crucial have always been great with me.
I remember having a faulty set of modules and they were swaped over within a week.
Crucial are also responsible for really good service with a graphics card a few years back.

I'd bought a 9700 and was using it just fine, then I upgraded to the first of Intel's dual-channel DDR systems (This was the Granite Bay chipset).
Anyway, there was an issue with the 9700 and Granite Bay.
ATI said it was Intels fault, Intel said it was ATI's and of course us owners were in the middle with no sign of help.

I spoke with Crucial and they tried so many different things to get my up and running.
ATI eventually released the 9800 card (which fixed all the issues - so looks like it was ATI at fault after all).
Anyway, with my 9700 nearly a year old Crucial offered to take that card off me and for an administration fee of £15 they sent me a brand new 9800 in exchange!
No way they had to do that, but for that reason I've always recommended people to Crucial for memory.
What goes around comes around.

Logitech here as just the other day I was going to buy a Revolution as the muse button on my MX1000 started to fail so I thought I would call them and see whta they could do and they said a replacement free upgrade to MX Revolution was fine and I just needed to email them proof of purchase whcih I couldn;t find so I rang them and told them and they said "oh nevermind" and started the replacement anyway and should get the new mouse in a few days.

Great eh!

Regards,
Neil

Plextor have been the best with me.

Emailled an RMA form and 2 days later i recieved a brand new retail packed drive. And to top it off they didnt even want the old drive back saving me the postage.

The drive was expensive as far as DVDRWs go but the excellent RMA service more than made up for that

The guys on the phone were they english or off-shore? All the email correspondence I've had is off-shore. I wondered if I called them I might get english and they could send me what I want. Theres a FAQ on logitech site that says if theres any replacement parts you need just call and they will send it for a fee.

They were off shore but they seemed very helpful and I can;t wait to get my mouse in a few days. They ahve always been good wehn I ask them to send some soem replacement glidepads for my mice. I have also asked if they can send me a set of spares for the rev for when they wear out.

Can't say the name of the company but a few years ago i bought my first laptop which i did online only to get a phone call to say there was a problem with my credit card which after a quick chat was sorted

well about 30 mins later they phoned again to say they had been on to there suppler and the one i wanted was out of stock so as a sorry they sent me the next model up which was £150 more but did it for the price of the one i wanted "sweet"

Logitech - replaced my out of warranty Z5500's with a new set a couple of weeks ago ....can't complain about that.

Crucial are good also but i just wish their ballistix line was more robust so multiple RMA's were but a memory.

I have to give another mention to Logitech.

My MX1000 developed a middle click problem as I mentioned above, they offered to replace it with a MX Revolution. I've been wanting the G5 so I asked for that instead, they said yes and sent it out no problems.

Delivered a few days later :)

Antec for me have been by far the best, DFI have also been very good. Seagate have been both good and bad for me. last time I RMAed some disks to them it took them around 3 weeks to turn them around as they claimed they couldn't locate the disks I sent. Then to cap it all the disks they sent through were DOA but after a lot of talking to various people they did upgrade them for me.

Good Cus. Ser: Logitech & Crucial

Worst: Viewsonic...waited for 3 weeks for them to send me out a replacement VX912, when it didn't arrive, wrote a very strong email, and sent it to 3 different departments, had a phonecall a few hours later, and a replacement sent that day...I suppose they did redeem themselves to some extent.

I contacted Viewsonic yesterday about my VX922 on which the DVI input is fried. They asked only for the serial number and my home address and unless they are lying, will dispatch a replacement model next week and collect the faulty unit all free of charge. Very impressed.

OCZ, when RAM went wrong they turned it around quickly with no hassle. To be honest, never had problems with anyone when RMAing, including e-tailers, all been great.

Another vote for logitech here.

My mx1000 mouse buttons stopped working in my mx3100 bundle, they sent me an mx3200 as a replacement :)

Logitech seem an amazing company with regarding customer service. Infact maybe the best ive ever recieved for anything.

I said Logitech above, but I think there's a new winner for me.

BFG.

Sent my 8800GTX recorded/insured on Saturday, guaranteed for delivery on Tuesday.

BFG received my card on Tuesday 04:41:45 and they had tested it by 10:05:22.

I was on holiday and only came back yesterday so I'm unsure when the card actually reached me, but there it was, waiting for me in the post box :D

I moved back home from the US and Fedex dropped my PC and killed it.

Spoke to MSI about the GFX card and they replaced it FOC even though i bought it in the US and it was damaged. Now thats what i call good service :)

Forgot to update this. Viewsonic were true to their word and delivered a replacement panel completely FOC.

Very happy with them.
