Soft Closing doors on the M5 and M6.

Always tell my Mother and Father that there is no need to slam! :p

Cant on mine :(

Can...

1. Turn on the ignition to position 2 but dont start the engine

2. Lock the door by pushing in the button below the handle, and then pull the handle slightly to reopen it (Repeat this operation three times)

3. Turn ignition to position 1

4. Lock the door by pushing in the button below the handle, and then pull the handle slightly to reopen it (Repeat this operation three times)

5. Turn on the ignition to position 2 but dont start the engine
A beep should be heard

6. Lock the door by pushing in the button below the handle and then pull the handle slightly to reopen again
A final beep should be heard.

Can't.

Doesn't work on all Focii. Most prefacelift models don't have the newer GEM modules to allow you to change it on the fly. Believe me, I've tried it several times :(

Think you can ask a Ford dealer to change it, but no doubt that will cost you £16123.87 for 10 minutes work.

Edit: Where did you get that info? I thought you meant the method where you depress both unlock/lock buttons at once, then I actually read the quote in your post.

cool gadgets i love on my caddy Same as above really, keyfob 1 press for drivers and 2 for all doors.
Can turn all the little features on and off in obc eg.

honk horn at lock
out of range door locks auto
unlock driver only in park or all doors.
auto set steering and seat position on remote unlock is also cool instead of moving when key is inserted.

digital dash that can either be on off or only numbers knightrider style, has to be my favorite as im a big kid :D too many to mention though.

Focusowners and if your doors autolock as you pull off. You must have the GEM module?

Were talking at crossed purposes. I meant the thing where one press of the fob unlocks the drivers door, and two presses unlocks both doors. You can turn it on and off with newer cars, but not mine.

My car doesn't autolock as I drive off.

b) When you want to indicate on the motorway for example on most cars inc mine you have to fully initiate the indicator stalk or hold it for a few seconds whilst you manoeuvre into the new lane. On the Seat I noticed if you simply tap the stalk it will indicate 3 times then go back to rest - perfect for switching lanes without having to hold it or take it off indicator like on other cars. I also thought this was a really neat feature.

I've driven a new Astra and a new Transit and they both do this. I find it annoying as I can't give a single left-right-left flash to say thanks to the person behind.

push the door almost closed (very close), it then closes itself! just pulls the door in.
kinda hard to explain more than that.

My Estima does that, it's especially cool when it does it on the sliding doors

This is the most annoying thing ever, the 530d does it and I had it turned off on my 530i. Becuase the E39 doesnt unlock the doors once you turn the engine off, so you've got to manually unlock them.

GRR.

Does pulling the interior handle not unlock the door? Granded's punto does, I still don't like it locking the doors past 10mph tho.

It does, yes, but then you've got to pull it again to open the door. It wont unlock and open in one handle-operation :p

That annoys me with these no key entry systems too.

You can try all you like to look cool, but it's impossible if you have to pull the handle twice.

My jag locks itself once over 5mph, I think its a great feature. Although it is just a one pull movement to unlock and open.

I can imagine it would be annoying to have to pull twice.

Use a couple of flashes of the hazards to say thanks, that's what I do :)
