Devil May Cry 4 Benchmark, DX9 and 10.

I would if I had millions but I'm not that rich :p, the money tree just aint growing this year.

Aye it does, in GTA. :D.

Hehe :D.

I think most people's money tree has turned into a bush with increasing inflation.

Oh, see this game. Is it anything like Assassins Creed?.

This game like assassins creed? Nooo way its totally diffo from what I see, Assassins creed is crap and this seems abit crappy, especially the Ai.

Oh :(. Might give it a bash when it comes out. Not going to do this benchmark though.

I like Assassins Creed. Not usually my type of game but after playing it for a few hours I really enjoyed it.

I got ****** off with assassins creed when it kept crashing going into jeruselum

AFAIK it only happens to the leaked version of Assassins Creed way before the game's official launch date??

Anyway back on topic - any performance comparison would be meaningless for this test as all 4 demos are not pre-recorded i find, instead it's more like a real time simulation of different bots playing against each other so it's slightly different every time you run it. The only constants are the camera angles.

Having said that here are my DX9 and DX10 results with 4xAA all settings at high no super at 1280x1024:

DX9:
124.74 | 95.62 | 134.67 | 78.77

DX10:
94.61 | 71.83 | 128.16 | 64.37

DX10, everything on high and maxed in the options, 1680x1050:
51/37/60/39

Could not run DX9 on the proper resolution for some reason :)

steve258 is right. I tried it before I bought the game and that happened to me.

It's not something I look to play but when I do it keeps me occupied and immersed for ages. I love how it looks and doing some slick counter attacks and assassinations .

Windows XP 32bit DX9:
1680x1050 4xMSAA All super high
92.48 / 67.55 / 110.51 / 64.81

system in sig.

Should have waited untill the game was actually released instead of downloading the buggy leaked version :P naughty naughty.

Have another look, especially the starting scene I noticed a lot of clipping through the cars etc.

I didn't mean that the animation wasn't smooth, I meant the characters movement looked jerky. As in arms moved too quickly and so on. Basically it's just bad IKA animation instead of getting some decent mo-cap. Not that they can mo-cap everything in there but there are ways of blending mo-cap with IKA to just about anything.

What the game tells you at the end is bull. I've never had a problem gaming at anything over 30fps.

EDIT: I'll run the demo again with willhubs settings, 1280x1024, 4xAA, High, no vsync.

I noticed the clipping with enemy cutting weapons passing through cars ect.. but i see that in allot off games & think nothing of it.
The lead man has always moved like that & is a bit twitchy when he shoots.

thats something that is common to consoles, and generally goes un noticed, its especially common to see that type of thing from Capcom, since they specialize in console games primarily. That type of thing only gets pointed out by PC gamers who are used to a higher standard of animation in their games.

That doesn't look right.. unless the game loves AMD processors or something daft. When compared to willhubs 8800GT at a lower res it's way more then his:

I'm using 2 8800GTs in SLi:

Opteron 180 @ 2520
2GB Corsair TWINX3500LL (2-3-2-6-1T)
Zotac 8800GT SLI

That would explain it! Yea it really seems to like SLI. It does seem like the engine is coded magnificantly I'll give it that. Gameplay just isn't my cup of tea though.
