My ADFD-16MB cache, 74GB raptor gone **** up last week and I asked for a replacement. Went to WD website completed a form and couple of days later i got my new raptor. Top class support. The reason i want to thank WD is because this raptor is the 160GB:D model (WD1600ADFD). I had no idea 160GB existed. I thought the next model is 150GB. Oh well....off it goes to an auction site:).

Last week? Lol where on earth is my drive gone then? I sent a 500GB AAKS back halfway through May and have heard diddly squat.

100% sure, There is no newer 150GB mentioned by WD yet only by a Mod here.

Google 160GB+Raptor or even SATA300+Raptor and you will get many results normally Dell or other OEM's.

There is definitely a 160GB Raptor available. It is a special part code available to Dell only although OcUK can source this drive if people are interested.

It is based on the old drive rather than the new VelociRaptor.

I much prefer the way that you get replacement hard drives and monititors, it just makes returning items so much easier.

For those that dont know:

You fill out a form on their website, put in you card details, and they send you a new drive. When you recieve this new drive you return the old one to them in the same packaging with a new address sticker on it. Obviously if you dont return the old drive within the given time frame your card gets charged.

It reduces the time that you are without your hadware.

I sent my wd drive back 5 weeks ago and yet to hear anything bar they said they recieved it 3 weeks ago which is a complete lie because i sent it by special delivery
