TBH im not at all impressed with the new iphone first it 3G great but were the front camera?

I mean all they seem to have done is slap a new back on it and add a few bits of software to it and so called better battery life but i bet it be only slightly better than the current iphone.

Sat Nav how will this work with a bluetooth adapter or by using 3G internet if the latter it going to cost a fortune unless you have somekind of internet package.

Things that havent beem mentioned is MMS & text forwarding plus proper bluetooth

If these haven't changed from V1 then what the point of upgrading your current iphone.

Me personally will be sticking with the V1 as i see nothing here that makes me want to upgrade Ive been holding back waiting to see what the V2 has to offer and personally im dissapoint to the point were in the last 10 minutes i just pre ordered a sim free Nokia N96

Haha.

Any one else sick that they paid £330 recently :p

To be honest, I don't think I'll be changing. I have sat-nav in the car, 3g would be nice, as would the battery life, but aren't essential for me. As long as I get the software side of things I'll be happy enough.

Plus, I think I prefer the aluminium back, for looks and protection.

Anyone a .mac subscriber? I've just had an email from Apple about it. I'm quite excited about it as well.

NOPE didn't pay £330 for mine

paid £250 instead brand new

I really wanted this to make me want it so bad I had to order it at the earliest possible opportunity, but I just don't get that buzz with it. I'm more than happy to sit back and think about it.

Whilst it's nice, the price drop is the only thing that has kept it in serious consideration for my next phone. I wanted it to be a bit more than that.

Have to agree Slogan, I'm not amazed by it! Would definitely get one if the price is right/unlocking options but for the moment my old trusty first-gen is still just the job!

no HSDPA modem? Then I wil not be changing from my original Iphone that cost me £169. The new Samsung definately looks far superior with better features.

With HSDPA & FLASH SUPPORT this would have been a must buy but without no thanks.....

Actually feel a little deflated after reading that lot.
Already have the 16gig V1 which I love.

Things im suprised by:

* Where is the 32gig?
* Where is the copy and paste?
* Where is the MMS?
* No improvements to the camera?
* Its bigger? Oops.

Things I like:

* Battery life
* GPS - Although the site still says "assisted GPS" that sounds odd.
* 3G
* New look. Glad they didnt deviate too much. Subtle is good.
Will i buy? Yep. Just wish it was 32gig.

I wonder if it has a GPS chip or is just "A-GPS" using existing GSM/UMTS networks or something?

"Location services is going to be a really big deal on the iPhone -- you saw a bit of that here today, it's going to explode. We get location from cell towers, from WiFi, and now we get it from GPS." So that's A-GPS. "We can actually do tracking."

http://www.engadget.com/2008/06/09/steve-jobs-keynote-live-from-wwdc-2008/

Most sites report it as GPS though. They had a video of a car being tracked down a street.

Have we seen all the features of the 2.0 firmware?

As above, copy/paste hasn't been mentioned. Will I be able to delete individual SMS messages?

By the way, A-GPS means assisted GPS. IE, it uses cell towers/wifi etc to get a faster lock whilst getting a sattelite GPS signal.

see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A-GPS

I almost get the impression that Apple are holding back on what to do with the phone, in order to create the same fuss they do with each new computer that is released.

Whilst processors in such a small device are not as important, there are a lot of the iPhone things that could be upgraded. The 16gb is half what people were hoping for, the lack of detail in the camera from Jobs would suggest it's still 2mp, no mention of Bluetooth headphone support and so on.

Some things will be unearthed or perhaps revealed closer to launch but a lot about it just screams 'nearly there..' and I just didn't want to be saying that post-conference. The example of sticking to your 1st Gen iPhone says it all really.

Not having a go at it, I may end up getting one, but I'm more deflated than elated over the whole thing.
