£99 for the 8gig iphone or £159 for the 16gig!!!!!

and its coming to pay as you go.

iPhone is now free on selected Pay Monthly tariffs*

There's only one thing better than an iPhone. The new 3G iPhone.

*Best of all, the new 8GB iPhone won't cost you a penny on our £45 and £75 tariffs. And it's just £99 on our £35 tariff and new £30 tariff.

All tariffs include unlimited browsing on your iPhone, unlimited Wi-Fi access, visual voicemail and reduced roaming rates with our International Traveller Service and are subject to a minimum term contract of 18 months.

More information on the new iPhone will be available shortly so come back in a few days or visit www.apple.com

its free on some tariffs too!

Good move apple! very good move!

Can't see may taking the £30 tarriff.

Still signed up to 'upgrade' my iPhone to a 3g come July. Probably transfer my existing to a Pay As you Go for the old chap.

Only thing dissappointing for me is the fact that is a new 18month contract rather then rolling the existing one like did for the 16Gig version.

Is there any word whether you can buy one, then sign up to contract at home through iTunes?

Nothing concrete yet, but on the website it does say that to buy an iphone you need a bank account for the contract direct debit.

Anyone know what the deal is then if you want to upgrade from an original iphone? Can I get a 16Gb one at the £159 price since i'm already on the £35 a month contract?

Phone is released on July 11th.

i know that lol. ive been in the WDDC thread for the past 24hours :p

i ment the prices for PAYG. they seem to say that more info will be available early july. so will this be when PAYG price is out do you think?

Holy crap, Apple haven't used their special $:£ exchange rate for once! I assumed "It won't sell for more than $200" meant "It won't sell for more than £179". :)

People still won't really be able to afford it tho.

No one my age will be able to get the £35 or higher and if they opt for the £30 they use a hell of a lot more credit than is given.

For PAYG, its going to be a hell of a lot and still people won't afford it.

The have seriously ****ed up on the "more affordable" sides of things.

Apple and the mobile services are cash hungry, willing to flog the idea to death and make as much money out of it. They think people are stupid enough to pay over the odds for it. With the last gen they clearly didn't with the whole unlocking scene. You would have thought they would have learnt a lesson.

Plus the advert is crap. Something Raef would have made off the Apprentice.
