Why isn't Robot Wars on TV anymore?

Was a good show robotwars at first but then it got really crap. Also i don't think I'd watch it even if it was back on unless they increased the playing field, increased the size of allowable bots to be mini tank size and also stick on guns and rockets which obviously wont have a audience there anymore due to danger but smeg who cares i want mechawarrior in reality. :D
 
Because it was rubbish, they should have just thrown 50+ bots in to a ring, last one standing wins. Like they do in some American championship thing.
 
It used to be awesome but got worse in later series when they started adding crap in the arena like the washing machine that got dropped on them. :/

I used to love it, used to make sure i watched it, Was a fan of razor though used to absolutely cane everything!, hypnodisc was good aswell, i always wondered why people didnt make a robot to cope with sir killalot, i think razor could have a good go, you have all the brains out there to make one.

i mean these days you could probably make a proper killing machine, maybe there was a limit to what you put on a robot and the size ect, to make sure you couldn't kick the **** out of killalot ?.

ah well, was awesome while it lasted.
 
the makers of razor continued in battlebots for a while with another bot that also was designed in the similar style, and with a spinning disc weapon and two scorpion like claws....

thing sticks in my mind is how big these things really are... even razor that is quite small if you see it in flesh is HUGE. My ex used to work with his wife and he bought it into work one day to show everyone :) (im sure some health and safety laws were broken there though :))

She lost her way after the millionth series of the god awful robot olympics style show. I don't remember it's name but it was absolutely dire, made worse by Phillipa wearing clothes that were too tight. Had to love the flab folding over the sides... *is sick*

She was stunning in robot wars especially when she had tight leather on.

True, you remember the follow up robot programme that I'm speaking about though? I'm not making it up, honest guv.

I think one of the events was to enter walking robots and race them...
All in all it was rubbish and Phillipa had lost her way.
 
I went to watch a 'Roaming Robots' (www.roamingrobots.co.uk) at Fenton Manor Sports centre just over a month ago, which was awesome (and odd because I heard about it the next day after randomly remembering Robot Wars and thinking damn that show was cool).

So much so that myself and a few mates are hoping to have a go at building our own combat robot this summer, starting when A-Levels are over (less than a week now for me!). If we do get started on it, and people are interested, I could make a thread on these forums and do a project log type thing.
