Non national footballers (aka have Brazilian will travel)

i find it amusing that turkey have an english player playing for them who would have never ever got in our team yet theyre in the competition and we arent :p oh dear

Zidane was born in France so he hardly applies, if you include him you're also going to have to include every black guy who plays for a European national side.

That's hardly the same, kind of depends how long your parents have lived in the country too (Which could be generations, black or white). Zidane holds dual citizenship with France and Algeria, which qualifies him for the thread. (Unless there's a reason why every other player already mentioned does, yet Zidane doesn't?)

Everyone in this thread was born outside of the country they play for. Zidane was born in France, so fails.
Again, dual citizenship is mentioned in the OP, country of birth is not. The only difference is that Zidane has had dual citizenship since birth.

But yes, if we're talking players switching nations through tenuous links, then I agree Zidane does not apply. :p

I remember Chris Birchall in the World Cup...got to play for Trinidad & Tobago because his mum slept with at least 17 drug dealers from the island.

In Stoke.

No, the boys a player and been head hunted thats why he plays for germany.
The poles would be a different proposition with a player like him upfront.

He's lived in Germany since two years old and is a German Citizen (I think so anyway, he could be if he wanted to) so I hardly think he's been headhunted, he came through German youth/club teams etc.
