Any problems with having a car cover on on a public road?

You cant justify the price of that car cover, so stop trying. Buy a cheaper one made from the same stuff a waterproof umbro jacket is made out of!!

I don't have to justify anything to anyone! The cheaper ones are exactly that, cheap. They damage the car. I'm not having that!

I'm surprised that they don't come with a window for the tax disk to be seen through... the numberplate shouldn't be a problem as you can just tuck the cover round it, but the tax disk i'm sure you could get in trouble for.

I'm still trying to decide if its a look at me i've spent £300 on a car cover or not thread, don't you think its a bit late to ask?

Not really, I'll still use it anyway, just wondering if I'll expect a knock at the door.

Spending £360 on a car cover without some sort of decent car being stored underneath is beyond stupid.

Ok, you draw the line here. What is decent and what is not is totally subject to opinion, I have never once said "Firestar, you car is so ****" - Whether or not I like someones car I have never called anyones car on this forum, crap. The car to you may not be "decent", but it's not your car, keep comments like that to yourself.

I don't want to car ruined because I don't have time to keep the car clean and look after it as it should be. So the car cover was bought. Now can anyone actually answer the OQ?

(Thanks to those that have already btw)

 I moved out 6 weeks or so ago.

\o/

£360 on a cover for an old low value motor though...

problem with car covers is they kinda 'sweat' your car, moisture is trapped underneath and just keeps everything nice and damp.

when you take it off one morning you'll find all body panels fallen off :D

Won't the police just run the plates and see that it's taxed?

And to be frank, you lot are pathetic, deriding his purchase just because you think his car is crap. It's his pride and joy, So what if he wants to keep it in good condition?

I just bought one that does all the above like the one you just paid 360 squid for and it only cost me €90 as it was on sale.

This cover "breathes" so this won't happen :)

To be fair, this will happen anyway! it's a 45 with a spoiler! ;) :p

He still doesn't pay any rent though - he lives with his girlfriends sister or something.

I have to pay for some things, works out £180 a month excluding food.

Wouldnt it be more wise to ask where he got it from instead of spending an extra £270 for the same thing

I went on recommendations and the fact I know 2 people IRL that have them so can see the results first hand. Hence why I went for one.

And plus I ordered it 2 days ago...28 day build/delivery time though! :o :(

Lets step down off the high horse for one second and quantify what i would put under a £360 car cover, Ferrari 355 / 360 (If parked on the road).

The only person who could justify putting a £2000 rover under a £360 car cover wears a white jacket and lives in a padded cell.
