Are you a back seat driver???

Not really a back seat driver, but I do often go for the imaginary brake sometimes :D

Scort.

What's really funny (following on from my last post) is that James keeps asking when he's allowed to drive the Audi. I might become a backseat driver if that ever happens :D.

I get uncomfortable at times when someone else is driving, but dont normally complain. I think its the lack of control you have as a passenger, making it feel a lot more dangerous than it is :)

Im good with certain people. Im perfectly fine with my parents.

But when it comes to my mates driving theres always a little voice thinking "were gonna die you know..."

One of my mates drives TOO safe...So much so hes UNSAFE...Hard to explain but he does everything by the book so much that hes creates problems. For example, He has to make sure he puts his indicator on when entering or leaving a round-about even if it means steering wildly!!

I know someone who rarely ever drives on motorways so when we do and I am driving I always get free (but unwanted) blind spot checks. It's annoying as hell when someone doesn't trust your driving.

I cant stand being a passenger, I dont feel safe.
Well, i say that, the only person i feel ok with is when the old man drives, but he lives in florida now so that kind of counts him out.

If I am a passenger, I tend to keep my mouth shut as it annoys me when someone else tells me how to drive! I do however tend to slam my foot on the passenger floor looking for the break :D .

I keep my mouth shut but I rarely trust the driving of others. There are perhaps 2 or 3 of my friends who I trust when seriously putting their foot down.

Ditto. In fact you're one of the few I don't mind being driven by.

I don't feel other's observations/anticipations are as good as me - as for driver skill/driving quickly I'm not that skilled so tend not to push it too hard, I like to keep within my limits - which makes driving more fun, small controllable slides rather than "oh ****" moments for example, or nailing the apex nicely, even if I'm not the quickest. That sort of thing. However a lot of people scare the crap out of me, yes they're quicker than me, but they just don;'t seem "in control"... which is very uncomfortable.

I do give people advise, like, you're good to go, you're clear, watch out for that kid 100m up the road, there's a bike coming up your blind side... etc... those sort of helpful comments. I don't make erratic screaming-type of comments.

However 9/10 I don't like being a passenger.

I used to be really bad for it but learnt to pipe down as it got on some peoples nerves. Generally i'll just say whether its clear coming out of a junction or something.

One thing I HATE is other people adjusting my cd player, constantly up and down! I can sneakily turn it down gradually by steering wheel controls though :p

A few of my mates a couple of years back would drive like total *****. It got that bad once, that I turned around and asked them to stop the car so I can get out. That was an interesting 15 mile walk back home :p

Ditto. I only ever open my mouth if I think I can really offer some constructive comment, just offering advice to my mates younger brother who hasn't long passed his test, for example.

I think thats bang on. Since ive passed a few months ago. I'm more alert when others are driving, its because i am not in controll of the car. :)

One time my brothers gf was driving us home from a football match, it was late and i was looking in the rear view mirror and her eyes were falling shut all the time. I felt like i was going to die lol

Managed to convince everyone we should pull over tho :(

I try not to be, but in practice I am. That's mainly because most years I can count the number of times I'm passenger not driver using my fingers...

I always 'help' my wife with braking, my right foot moves without me thinking.

Thing is that I probably brake later then her when I'm driving.

I find myself going for the invisible brake pedal quite a lot too lol ;)
