Nvidia GTX 280 - IN STOCK NOW!!!

I'm thinking my purchase of a ZOTAC 8800GTS AMP Edition couple of weeks ago for £119.99 was a complete bargain..some of my friends were saying "Don't get it the GTX200 is out soon"

Hmm...£119 or £500 for high performance graphic card ?

You would have to be insane to spend close to £500 when a 8800GT can be had for under £100 and can run everything bar one average game at a very good speeds

Let the games dictate your GPU purchase not your penis!

Yep £500 on something which only benchmarks can take full advantage of?

No decent games to take advantage of such power No ta.

what im talking about is: my current pc (first build/gamingspec - for me) , if i priced everything i have now , i could get it for probably under the £500 i spent. back in start of 2007. and i originally had 8600gts . (price above is with 8800gts instead as i could have brought that but out of budget).

just take a look at the start of the gtx 260/280 spec forum, started out people hoping it will cost £200-250. £300 max.

i think the day (pentium 4 and athlon 4000+ gaming pc costing upwards of £2000 are over)

i rest my case

ok obviously this is 'quite' expensive :p

So still get the 8800 GT for around the £100 price mark or will nvidia / ati bring out a £100 card very soon ??

The 4850's supposed to be around that price point, probably a little more but not by much, most people are predicting about £130 over here, some American etailers have sneakily put up pre-orders every now and again with prices ranging mostly from $199 to $229.

The 4850 is hitting retailers in the US at around $200, so about £130 over here could be likely. For that extra £30 you should get upto 40% extra performance and plenty of overclocking overhead, if the early reports are to be believed. Looks to be the new de facto card for a gamer PC taking the mantle away from the 8800GT.

Naa, typicial UK e-tailers ripping us off and taking advantage of the early adopters, off course there not all this bad, i've found a few sites with pre-overclocked GTX280 for less then the cheapest standard ones here and they have stock. :D

Naa in the states they are retailing for around $700 which for them is mega expensive so they're equally in a bad mood as us :)
