E39 M5 Exhaust

Man, I keep looking at E39 M5's thinking I seriously want one, and listening to that is making it hard to fight the urge.

If only petrol weren't so ludicrously expensive. :(

The E39 M5 isn't that bad on fuel, driven sensibly, 30MPG is possible, Driving back from London I was following my brother in his M5 in an Audi A6 2.7TT, and I averaged 23MPG, he got 27MPG... quite impressive..

The one I test drove averaged 18mpg its very hard to drive it sensibly :) I would hold off buying one just yet as they're still dropping in price, quite a lot over the last 2 months I've been searching.

I think they look nice, but would have to reserve judgement until hearing them. I dont think an M5 should be a loud car, afterall that isnt the point of a stealthy supersaloon like that. :)

I had a droning issue with my Miltek full system on my e46 M3, mine was at 2500-3000 which was my 30mph speed.

It did get on my boobies a bit and I see the later ones have been revised to stop it.

I do agree with some people about it being a bit OTT for the type of car, The M5 to me is a classy high performance car, it should be almost a sleeper, suttle looks, quiet exhaust pottering about and then Armageddon when you floor it.

That's what the 535d is for. The M5 should sound like a supercar when you floor it.
