can i connect tv home cinema systems to my pc and use as speakers plus control by useing the composite converter? i have a ati HD 3870x2 graphics card and creative sb audigy 2 ZS sound card and im running vista 64bit.

yes you can. if you have optical in on the sound system, then by pass the sound card and take it of the digi out on the mobo (depending what mobo it is).

Most gfx card come with a cable to connect it to a tv, if not you can buy one for a few quid. All depends what connections the tv and gfx card has.

How do you mean get the dvd player working?

i dont have it or any one yet i was just asking because i was thinkign about buying one insted of a pc seround system to replace mine, as im thinkin about buying a hd tv and use as monitor but these compersite leads that come with my gfx card could i use them and plug into a compersite home cinema system? that comes with a dvd player etc like the one in that link

I don't think even hd tvs work well as a computer monitor.

As for sound system your better of getting a cheap AV receiver and speakers. Or if you can't afford that. make sure the home theater system has the correct inputs.

connecting a gfx card to a tv shouldn't be a problem, most cards will either have an svid out or an svid cable. or the card might even have hdmi connection. What's the exact model of card?

its this one the 2870 x2 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-091-HT ,i jsut wanted to run it in hd. AV receiver and speakers ant that the same as the home cinema kits? only home cinema kits comes with dvd player built in

pretty much, but you get a lot more connections on the the av recievers and you can select which speakers and amp. But as long as you get a kit with the right inputs you'll be fine.

As taht gfx card has hdmi, just get a theatre with a hdmi input

Thanks mate, im going to look into this.. should it sound better then pc 5.1 speaker setup?

it depends what your current system is. But I expect it shoudl sound better than what you have know.

Best thing is to go to a shop and ask and tell them what you need. Ask them which models have both hdmi input and hdmi output.

If you get it at the same time as a hd tv, you might be able to get a discount, don't be scared to ask in such places.
