So I find out who vandalised my car...

some people on this forum really do seem like spineless idiots who would just sit back and let people **** all over them.

just because your too worried or "nice" to act back doesnt mean everyone who isnt is a "keyboard warrior" "hardman" etc. i find it really suprising that youve never came across people who would act like that in real life :S

guess this is why people do vandalise cars etc , because they know theres a high chance that the victim just wont show that they care.

I was going on exactly what you typed, actually. You said "confront him with a few mates" - do you actually think that'a a sensible idea, or are you playing for internet points? And before you blast me for that, it's sometimes a bit hard to tell when people on t'internet are just playing to the crowd.

perfectly sensible course of action. infact i dont see anything wrong with it at all. theres a good chance it will make the spineless ******* think twice before vandalising your property again and you wont of broken any laws or even harmed them.


people on here obviously think that makes you as bad as the vandal but it really doesnt at all IMO
 
It may be a long shot but confront him at his doorstep with your phone set to record the conversation. Tell him some neighbours saw him do the act and are ready to give evidence to the police when you go see them, unless he agrees to pay the repair cost. Call his bluff: say they also saw him trying to break into the car. With any luck he'll say he only did the scratches and damage but not break-in. Up to him what he does then. Either way, you'll have the conversation on tape if you do feel like filing a case. Worst case is he will know that you know and could try another damage attempt, but may not if he thinks people are now keeping an eye out.

Well, that's what I would do. I think. The only bit I know and have done before is call someone's bluff to get them to reveal something.
 
I would go for the subtle fast food delivery service. Pizza, chinese, indian by the hundreds from a payphone then get yourself a six pack and sit by your window and laugh everytime his doorbell rings ensuring that they arrive from about 10PM to 2am in the morning.

just stick a nail in front of one his tyres, his tyre gets a puncture then he has to replace it, repeat over and over until you feel he has spent enough on tyres :P
 
Write a letter to him.

Ok, so you'd be tellin a little white lie, but state in the letter you have hard evidence that links him to the vandalism to your car. Give him a time limit (say for example, 14 days) to pay the cost of repair, or your insurance excess, or you will be taking it further.

The more official you make it, the more it will scare him.

Order the same thing from like 10 different chineses, would be so hilarious then repeat for indians pizza places etc etc. He'll be blacklisted from every delivery restaurant in town.
 
Id not even think of messing with his car. If he has damaged your just for fun then i am sure he will do more than scratch it next time. You say do it stealth but surly he would know u damaged his, of course unless u drain the oil "like the idea".

If your that mad about it then knock on door explain your not happy and see what he says. Explain you spent money to sort it and at the least he could do would give you some money for a Chinese and some beers.

Its unlikely he will give you some money or will prob fob you off with ok or even laugh. If this happens then id just ask for a straightener in the garden. ;) Win or loose your prove your point not to mess with your car. job done :D

Maybe because some members of this forum are not complete tools and have realized that going and confronting someone with a bunch of mates, or even taking a revenge attack, is not going to make the situation any better.
 
Shriek everytime you see him. Always approach his garden quickly in a hunched crab-like manner, stop, touch your crotch and run away normally. Smear Nutella around your lips and point in an inviting manner at the closest dog**** whilst following him. Write his wifes name on your forehead in permanent marker. Cut your eyelids off and hang around his local. Don't just pick one, it won't work, you have to do them all.

He won't sleep well.

Set up a webcam to try to catch him in the act (if you think it might happen again).

Then do as you will.

I'm so glad that I don't live in some scummy area where people damage your property and you have to go and 'have it out' on their doorstep.

Best course of action, and not only then is your car better than his, you're better than him for not retorting and turning it into schoolyard games, in the end if you do something, he'll do something else, then you'll be baited into doing something else, then he'll set fire to your car.

Just let it go, be the bigger man and walk away, if it happens again, go the official channels, maybe install CCTV as said above.
