Hi
Upgraded Bios to 2001 but now won't boot using raid. Anyone had this problem / point me in the right direction? System ok if I disable Raid (mirror). Got two Maxtor 150gb disk drives. ok before upgrade

Can you clarify a bit more please

Was the system booting from a RAID1 array prior to the BIOS upgrade?

How far through the boot process does the system get now?

Have you checked the BIOS boot order?

Hi, thanks for replying bit of a noob as far as raid is concerned.

I think it's a Raid 1 mirror. Only was I've go it to boot is to disable Sata controller boot ( at least try) then renable the sata controller but also disabiling the raid.

Ok prior to upgrade, tried going back but still won't boot. Hardware must be ok because I'm using it now.

Gets as far as looking for windows before reporting that it can't find OS

Checked boot order and set it to bood from hard disk
Any ideas???

I have the M2N32 SLI Deluxe version of that board.

When the bios was updated I found that it very annoyingly reset everything. It didn't detect my RAID0 array. I think I looked in the bios - and it had "disabled" all the hard disks which were previously RAID enabled. When I "switched" the relevant discs back on - everything was fine. Let us know if this helps. :)

Thanks!
Tried that, Still confused

You mean it still doesn't work?

I think the other thing I tried was to disband the array in the relevant menu - and then rechoose the disks again, then reboot.

I'm not sure that this makes sense - and the advantage I had was that the data on my RAID array was replaceable, so I could afford to do something as risky as this. I think this may have been the last or second to last thing I tried.

Sure, made great sense! Just tried the and still no go!

Just to make sure I understood. I disabled the array and disabled the Sata chip in the bios. rebooted, then then remade the array and reenabled the raid in te bios and still...Zip

Any other thoughts before my Pc take a long walk off a short Peir!!

:D

...more info!
