One things for sure, it's going to be a crap holiday. If I was in that situation I would cancel the holiday for a start making some excuse and see how she reacts. Also, surely you made a note of "his" number when you looked at her phone, just ring him up on a random phone and say "is Dave there?"

Both my long term relationships have ended cos they went off with someone else, once I got dumped for the secretary at work, another time I got dumped for the barmaid in the pub.
Techincally though the 2nd time I found an incriminating txt on his phone after he'd been acting weird and rang him and told him his stuff would be downstairs in 30 minutes or maybe I could ring the woman in the pub and get her to pick it up.
But yeah they have both ended due to cheating on me.
Time to man up and get to the bottom of it dude. She isn't necessarily cheating (she could have made a new best friend!; it DOES happen), but then again she could be passing you STD's, so it might be a good idea to get to the bottom of it pronto.
IMO you should have just taken the plunge here and opened the message to read the whole of it, could very well have solved this issue right there and then. Would have been a simple case of deleting the message afters so she'd have had no idea he'd sent a message.
