The Vectra dash is awful, a lot worse than the ST220 in my opinion. It just looks vile and the one I sat in had really cheap scratchy plastics - the facelift Mk3 Mondeo's plastics actually aren't bad.

Well I have had the pleasure of pushing one of these round thruxton, well it wasnt really a pleasure it was terrible, The dash looked terrible like all vauxhalls, I know the mondeo isnt great but its a whole load better than any dash vauxhall have ever made.
On the drive, ye its nice and got a lot of grunt due to being turboed but the thing is terrible when you're pushing it along, could feel it slipping all over the show and I wasnt even pushing on compared to others.
A truly horrible drive Made me realise how good the st220 package is.
Oh and Paul O'Neill said the vectra was terrible and agreed with Jeremy clarkson et al about how it was the most dangerous car on the roads.

well the sri version in black or silver does look pretty nice and there is more attention to detail in the cabin but i've decided to keep my mk3 as it's not really costing me out to run it,
makes sense in a race between the mondeo , a mazda and a vxr , the vxr came out top and mondeo last as it just wasnt putting down the power....
*race was on topgear straight line race...they also noted that the mondeo did feel more planted on the road and handled much better then the vxr though so perhaps on a track the mondeo may have one*

He doesn't say it's the most dangerous car on the road, he says "I'm tempted to say it's dangerous".
I have no idea how bad it is, but he is known for hating Vectras on principle so isn't exactly the most unbiased person to road test one.
I wasn't posting it for that, it was just for general... amusement?
