Doesn't matter as even cheap ones don't allow the standard AV cable to fit. Be careful about second hand information.

All I've got is second hand information about the subject since I dont have a HDMI 360.

Nobody else bothered to mention about the possibility of it not fitting if he wanted to use the A/V cable for 5.1 so I mentioned it instead.

I wasnt sure about it so I said buy a cheap one incase it didn't fit.

Why would you go VGA over HDMI? Never understood it really. Some people say they don't like the super sharp image that HDMI produces, well lower the sharpness setting then?

Because HDMI means you have to hack up your HD AV cable to get sound to an amp, and even with sharpness on 0 i still find HDMI too sharp.

well i figured out what im gonna do

gonna get both the HD AV cable and the hdmi cable, meaning the hdmi will go to the monitor for the pitcture quality and the 2 phono connecters will be used from the av cable to get plugged into a adapter then from that ill have a male/female adapter then i can plug my 2.1 in that... if that makes sense.

will it work?

yes but youll have to hack the plug on the HD AV cable up to get it to plug in aswell as the HDMI cable in the back of the Xbox.

really? i i was told by my mate that the 360 will be fine with it.

bugger in that case then, i wonder if the monitor has a headphone jack.. if so i can just plug my speakers in that.

Only way around the problem (of the HDMI cable not fitting) is to either hack off some of the plastic casing around the AV connector or buy the official 360 HDMI cable (or just use VGA )

ags needs help deciding between the official VGA cable and a HDMI cable, i recon he should get the VGA cable.

HDMI, always.

You don't hack the plastic off, you simply unclip it (the whole outer case clips on) and then bend the metal up slightly inside so the HDMI cable fits nicely. I have no idea where this hacking rubbish came from.

well, ive just found out that the monitor has a 3.5mm jackt hat i can plug my 2.1 speakers into, so all i need is the hdmi going to the screen from my 360. god that makes like so much easier!!!
