Lets hope nVidia don't give us a headache by making their prices EXACTLY the same as the ATI cards.
i still want more info on the 4870X2 i see that a certain review site removed there page and pics they had of the black PCB black cooler one.
Hi there
We have 4870's in stock ready for launch, can't say no more.![]()
Load is what matters and 30 degrees is a huge delta. I'm thinking mainly about overclocking potential (plus lifespan is another minor potential issue with those temps). There was a mass rush to replace 8800 GT coolers here when everyone saw the temps and the same is likely with 4850/4870 IMO.Mine is the same temps wise when idle too so dunno what you meanit's only almost 90 under full load but very briefly because the moment the fan spins down when not loaded temps drop instantly so thermal control is very good and the 8800GT doesn't even have a heatpipe like the 4870!

Well if nvidia do price-match (lol i really don't think this will happen)
I would rather give ati my money this time around
Nvidia have held back on driver fixes (fact) for mainly the 8 series cards in what can be seen as an attempt to force card upgrades
Ciao

Hmmm at 1680x1050 it looks like its worth spending the extra and getting a 280
