From a reproductive aspect only.

Being gay has no other detrimental affect on a persons life, all other illnesses do.

As a result, being gay only differs from choosing not to have kids on a genetic/choice level.

It doesn't actually affect the life of the person 'afflicted' with it ;)

No they don't chlamydia for example will not affect a mans life if he doesn't know about it iirc.

Many mild mental illness will go unnoticed, there are lots of illnesses that are symptom less and will not affect your life.


Having a detrimental effect on your personal happiness is not in the definition or else al animals would be free from illnesses.

WEll it does as it means they like to sleep with their own sex where as if they didn't "have it" so to speak they would not.

what are you going on about, your the one that is trying to prove that gay is an illness based on the definition of the word, and you are the one ignoring that fact the medical science ("ignoring everything else") does not even class it as an illness and haven't even done so since '73.

I don't really care about what you call it, just it does fit the term illness rather well (as do lots of things) but as people have shown it makes people angry to all it that so it's best not to.

so far they have a different chemical reaction to pheromones and a possibly different physical brain structure.

And it's shown in animals so not choice based, it is a physical condition. Give me a word you would rater me use :/


It's not an illness. AFAIK officially it's still classes as a disorder, but I could be wrong?
