Alternative Adobe reader?

Just about to install adobe reader, but thought i would see if there is anything else less bloaty out there that does not constantly require updates or start-up access. I only read the odd PDF readme file so nothing fancy is required. Do you good folk use anything else or is abode the only option

Foxit Reader is superb. Very lightweight and is very quick to load (less than a second on my computer).

just downloading now, so is it free or what, it seemed to say it was however i needed to try some other products?

There is also Sumatra PDF

Foxit or SumatraPDF.

Foxit make a free PDF viewer and some pay for PDF creation products. This'll be what they are offering you.

I use Foxit too, I can't belive people use Adobe Reader to read PDF's, it is a monster of a program. With Foxit I can happily install it on a 5 year old computer and be able to view PDF's in a few seconds.

Foxit reader is much better... Adobe just eats my system resources

Foxit has such a smaller footprint..I'll never go back to adobe!

Thanks for this i didn't know there was an alternative i shall be getting foxit when i get home! Adobe reader is so annoying always wanting to update & so on
