Crossfire 4870's actually cost more than the GTX 280 and will get you 1fps at 2560×1600, how hard is it to believe that for some people its a worthless solution? It's a great card for what its for, but its not for everything.

Where does it say the 512Mb is limited at high res? I thought ATI had much more efficient texture handling and hence needed less memory at high res? Do correct me if I am wrong though.
AT 2560 x 1600, xfire 4870 seem to beat a GTX280 by 30 -70 fps in games:
