Are they just making films now? No more seasons?

I really liked Big Score, so I'm looking foward to the new one.

Can't wait for this second one. the first was awesome, plenty of funny moments in it as usual

So are all these films technically the 5th series? I seem to remember reading that they were planning on cutting them up into smaller episodic lengths to use as the 5th season

Yep they're being cut up into 12 eps for a half season to be shown around november time.

I don't think either the simpsons or Futurama should be made into ~80 minutes blocks.
It's too long to watch a cartoon for imo

But I found both "films" a little poor.
The simpsons has been largely rubbish for the past 3 or 4 years and it seems they have also ran out of ideas for Futurama :<

Seen it twice, it is pretty good. Not as funny as an episode. It has a very heavy story for a cartoon, it's pretty deep I'll warn you! I won't spoil anything for you though.

I found the second movie marginally worse than the first, TBH three stars at most. I know it's animation but the story seemed to lack direction or any real purpose. I was drifting away towards the end.

They can do it - who can forget Jurassic Bark from the 4th Season with its final 2 minute coda which just left my wife and I in stunned silence on the sofa. One of the great/poignant TV/Animation moments.

By all accounts the third and fourth will be better, but if you're going to stretch a normally 20 min or so show into feature length, you need to keep your foot on the gas.

As average as this was, it was still infinitely better than the first, which holds my 'Worst Film of 2007' award.

BBS made me chuckle once.

BWABB made me chuckle 3 times and laugh twice. The ending sucked though.

These movies are really not doing the original series any justice

Both are poor tbh, no even close to the original series, as a futurama fan i find these disappointing.

They're making 4 films which will make up season 5. Not sure if they'll do a 6th series or not. I believe (could be wrong here) that the films - when finished - will be broken down and shown as a 5th series in America so wouldn't be surprised if they show them here too.

Looking forward to seeing this film too!

I also feel these movies have been suffering from just being too long. If they were cut in half and the multiple fractures of story from the movies put into said time slots it would be vastly improved. Currently there's just not enough depth in the movie's main storys for more than maybe a double episode length.
