!!!IN STOCK ATI 4870!!!

My first choice for Radeons is always Sapphire!
Same here, but it isn't going to make any difference quality wise this time around though, seeing as all the cards currently available are reference cards; I might even chance my arm and get a Powercolor :)

Has anyone found out what the warranty is for the Powercolor cards? I know Sapphires usually offer 2 years, but I haven't seen anything for Powercolor.

Haha ok so some people don't have a prefered manufacturer, I take it that you just pick the cheapest or in the case there are several cards at the same price you close your eyes and stick a pin in the list! :D

The reviews say the Sapphire comes with a 2GB USB stick although only if u get a full retail box, sounds useful as I need a bigger flash drive! :o

Is there any value in getting the same make of GFX card and mobo (eg Asus P45 mobo with 4870)?

Well going by the powercolor 3800's it looks like 1 year. And as the first year is with the retailer it means 1 year warranty with OcUK.;)

omg I can't believe I am having an in depth chat about different brands and the reason for choosing one over another! :o

I also can't believe someone is suggesting that auction is a good place to sell used graphics cards! :D

We all know auction is a great place to sell used kit, I mean its really kinda obvious right?

OcUK MM is a great place to trade also although it has its own 'micro' economy that is seperate from the rest of the universe! :p

easyrider is jabba-the-hut of MM ;)

Jeez man the socket change is next year!!!

Then it will be a few extra months before it works properly! :D

it's actually slated for a Q4 release this year, and Anandtechs preview painted a picture of very stable boards apart from a single board specific memory problem. Most boards are completely fine at release, unless the months you are referring to mean the few BIOS releases to get full overclocking potential out of the boards.

Yup thats right.

You forgot to mention the hardware revision that normally takes place a few months after release :p

In short you would have to be someone who only upgrades every four years to think about holding off buying a new mobo and cpu to enjoy today.
