Anyone done or going to Prison Service Recruitment Day?

Prison officer mate. When you go to the RAD they pass you on 2 exams/4 x 10 min role plays a 20 min interview and a medical. I also did a few online tests so it's by no means a walk in the park. What sort of stuff did you do? Or did you just get your application rejected?

Think it was only about 5mins,it wasn't long,all i remember is that it flew by,i even continued when the test had finnished

think i have the wii fit to thank for that

Just on a list now but I got my first choice at Northallerton! Hopefully wont be waiting months to get in!

Nope! Only me and this other bloke turned up! Was meant to be a girl with us but she bottled it and never showed! People there were great with us which is always nice. I just hope I get my job offer soon!

Have you started yet mate? I'm still waiting to hear back now, it's getting a bit annoying!! I've emailed recruitment to see if/when the jobs are likely to be offered/coming up.

Im a prison officer give me an email if you wanna know anything for your assessment day, Im just waiting my senior officer job simulation assessment results. been in the job 6 years now and im only 26.

Those of you that have just started as POELTS then remember to join the POA and get used to making the tea for the others, we use poelts as dogs bodies where I work, but its all in good fun

Nah,suprisingly they seem quite respectful,from what ive experianced so far anyway,still going through the POELT training so most my time is in the class room at the moment.
I did have one inmate try to grill me about my personal life but as soon as i got a bit stern he backed off saying ''sorry boss,thought i knew you from some where''.
My very first day on my wing i was lucky enough to experiance a cell search and a C&R insident,even though i wasn't involved in the C&R it still got the blood pumping,good stuff

I'm dying to get in but I'm currently sat on the waiting list as it were. Down for Northallerton but I'm trying to see if I can get in somewhere else a bit quicker. They don't seem to rush this! I completed my fitness test about 5-6 weeks ago now and I've since heard nothing apart from saying I'm on the list and I passed it all. Guess it's just the agonising wait now. Do they all call you boss then? lol Reminds me of prison break which I have just started watching! Excellent show!

oh I though POELTS were the tea boy haha, anyway I work at HMP Send its a closed female trainer, its good fun to be honest but female prisoners are worst than YOs. They just dont take no for an answer.

To all those waiting - The prison service is a good career but does take a while to get in cos they are so slow when it comes to admin.
