samsung 640gb or WD 640gb ?

So, just about to order. Swaying towards the WD.

Anyone think otherwise ?

- samsung spinpoint f1 640gb
OR
- western digital se16 640gb

Out of the two I would go with WD... much better warranty and suppor timo, as well as more proven reliability.

The Samsungs are good though, I have a single-platter 320GB as my boot drive.

There's almost no difference in it, performance is pretty much identical with the Samsung being a teeny bit faster and a teeny bit quieter but you couldn't tell the difference.

The only warranty advantage WD have is the advanced RMA which is still slower than a normal Samsung RMA.
