Works for me, Blizzard recommend running it in XP compatibility mode & administrative mode.

Closed Battle.net characters work for online multiplayer only.
Open Battle.net lets you play single player and on Open Battle.net servers. However they are very laggy and have tons of hackers.
Yes - That's what I used to do.
Yea you can for that. Its just the actual seperate single player component of the game will not allow you to play your online character offline. But yea you can make private games to play by yourself.

blizzard always making games for loads of masses so i dont think u will need a monster pc to run it good.
i would say something like e2180 2 gig of ram (ram is cheap this days easily upgradeable to 4 gig if u run vista) and something like 8800gt 4850/ 3850 should run it on max depends on res of course i think the game will be dx10 might aswel upgrade to vista if u did not yet

in official blizzard forums there is a big post that if you click it 666 times slowly ,because if you do it fast the download will not pop up.
so if you click it slowly it will let you download diablo 3 demo played in gameplay movie.
Is it true or not i dont know im still reading trough the pages as it has loads of them .
