It wasnt the comment it was the referencing of the meta-critic scores. Not too sure what he was trying to prove? Maybe he feels better seeing PS3 titles worse off? Kinda makes me glad I can afford both consoles.

Theirs simply one reason you should buy a PS3 and that's for the exclusives, compare the games on each consoles (exclusives) and choose the console with the best current lineup and upcoming lineup.
If its a games console you want them pick the titles, however if you just want it as a media player then the PS3 is better.

I don't understand this, Why would it not stay free. There's been nothing even remotely said to suggest it will ever cost.

Im most probably going on a hunch aye, i don't really expect sony to let them have a free online play system when MS are charging. The only other way is for MS to reduce prices or stop the Pay2Play system.
same with the Wii they are planning a Pay2Play online scheme (not sure whether its still going ahead though).
Pure speculation though.

Why is it hard enough to understand im stating my personal opinion. Just because the OP is asking for advice on the PS3 doesn't mean i can give some advice on both.

There has been recent speculation that Sony will drop the price later in the year. There was recently some stuff leaked about their future plans to make the PS3 profitable and a price reduction was mentioned as well reducing chip size's and reducing components etc.
The rolleyes was supposed to be tongue in cheek, hence why I followed it up with the
.The PS3 only ever played about half the movie files I chucked at it when they first released XViD playback. They have updated it quite a lot since then though and I can't remember the last time a movie file wouldn't play on it!
Doubt your Universal remote would work tbh as it has no IR input. The official PS3 remote is bluetooth.

I tried after the update that added more support, same thing. Like I said, not really a problem though and it hasn't affected me.

I then listed reasons for the OP to buy a PS3; and there are many.
