Glastonbury, who was the best?

Fully agree with you nokkun. When they bang on about her so much and show her whole set on national tv they feel like they have to say it was great. It wasn't. At all.

It was like watching a full-on car crash live on stage I had to look away at times it was just too painful to watch. I think it only a matter time before she is found dead in a hotel room somewhere. Sad as she is a very talented singer. :(

Newton Falukner without a doubt.

Closely followed by the amazing Raconteurs.

Seriously, check out Faulkner's set on the BBC Glastonbury site. It's grrrreat! :D

Only band that would get me to glasto would be pink floyd or some other A list group like the stones I thought this years was very B list.

Has Eavis lost his mind?

I love The Verve but I would have bought tickets without hesitation if this had happened. Did the yoof of today want The Verve?

I guess if the kids don't want it...give the Jay-Z and Winehouse:rolleyes:

I don't think most of the youth today even know who the Verve are, I saw them at Eden on Friday and it was all over 30+ there and no young'uns ;)

Ok this years line up was a bit lame (only 2 bands i was interested in) but what did everyone think was the best bit, from either being there or on the bbc coverage???

Mine was Massive Attack on saturday nights highlights with Angel. Probably the best bit ever. This is followed by the Verve just ending with noise (playing oxegen in 2 weeks too!!!) :)

Still anyone else like anything good?

I thought Massive Attack were weak, I left after Teardrops to go try my luck with Jay-Z. Leonard Cohen was far and away the best for me. I enjoyed Dreadzone and Lupe Fiasco a LOT more than I thought I would as well, as I had barely heard of them prior to stumbling in to their tents.

However, nothing beats early morning stone circle shenanigans or me personally.. :D

Just watched the verve set. Wow. Superb! Shame the vid on Radio1 site missed off their new tune which followed Bittersweet Symphony. Zane Lowe ended his show yesterday with it.

Also saw one tune from Raconteurs. Great energy, great performance.
Gonna watch that in full then Elbow, as they're going to be at Latitude Festival. Which I'm going to!

i love it when people get angry at jay z been there and recommend 70s rock bands instead

why would kids want to see some rockers who are a bit past it

if it was the 70s/80s and they where still awesome though, then the "kids" would probably enjoy it.

also guessing that people who where into pink floyd during theyre childhood and still love them now wouldnt go to glasto to see them

BBC site didn't have Manu Chao's set up last time I checked, hope they've sorted that out! He's always great live as the songs sound completely different live than they do on the albums.

In this order:

Seasick Steve
The Raconteurs
Frank Turner
The Verve
John Mayer

Enjoyed many others as well but those stuck out for me :)

Erm, sorry but absolutely ANY venue Pink Floyd perform at would be an instant sell-out. People have been waiting for 14 years for them to perform again. Look how many turned up to Live 8 just to see them play four songs.

Glastonbury would have sold out within a day if Floyd headlined.

I don't really have a problem with Jay-Z playing but to turn down a Floyd reunion because The Verve have re-formed seems insane. I think it would have been better to have The Verve on before Floyd and drop/ reschedule one or two of the bands from earlier in the day.

I know it's a matter of opinion but Floyd are far from past it. Their more recent albums aren't much cop as far as I'm concerned but then The Verve are also currently trading on their past sucess.
