TF2 Updates - Heavy Pack is next

I think a heavy spam would be more fun than pyro. Demoman can easily take out a heavy. Looking forward to the update, especially as I barely use the heavy so it could make it more fun to use for me :D

If they base any updates on what people say on the Steam TF2 forum, then heavies will probably get a jet pack, light saber and a portable electric fence surrounding them to keep spies off their backs.

...Not that I think that forum is full of idiots, or anything like that.

Their biggest mistake was not updating them all at the same time imo. I have avoided the game for a while now due to people going the same class constantly.

Well after reading the goals I was thinking maybe some sort of front shield for the minigun as an unlockable weapon, make him move slower but take less damage. That way he won't be quite so vulnerable without a medic.

I think a welders' blast shield for the face protecting them from sniper-fire: an obvious weakness in my eyes.

A more accurate long distance weapon of sorts :) an M16? twin uzi? I'm not sure what I could see fitting into the heavy and looking good / feeling right.

Brass Knuckles - Crit melee strikes/ blows send the target flying backwards until they contact a wall/obstruction :D

"bam, headshot" :D

I'm also stuck for ideas of what you could upgrade, especially as an alternative to his shotgun!

PK!

Air strike missiles are the obvious choice for the heavy weapons :p

Molotov cocktail? The Heavy being Russian and all....but then the fire thing is the Pyros area. Hmmm, maybe a cannon of some sort, or a stationary machine gun that he can man.

I have 70 hrs as the heavy so this should be interesting.

Snipey snipey time indeed. Got a heavy in mid-air yesterday as he dropped down with medic, who ubercharged as he hit the ground, but without heavy friend.

i actually high 5'd myself :D:D

I'm liking the blast shield/mask approach. Protect him from the front but reduce visibility to make him vulnerable from the sides and behind. Adding the shield would add mass to the gun and make it slower at switching from one enemy to the next. I think the trade offs are good and its obvious to everyone which heavies have the unlocked shield and which don't.

Perhaps the brass knuckles would require 3 hit combo to be crit - tiger uppercut!!! :p

3 hits with the normal punch and their down anyhow

I liked the idea of the heavy having a weapon that had something more than just 'powerful killing' - the knockout punch that would send people flying would add fun and something more to the class :D

But in reality, it would just be hillarious so gets my vote ;)

That's exactly what I said on server the other night, I also included that the pyro is seriously powerful now and someone told me I was wrong. So i changed to Pyro and showed them what I meant and surely enough I finished top of every map several times. Talk about unbalanced now, if they only took time out and upgraded all the characters before release, the servers wouldn't be full of pryo's/medic's, everyone could have have a choosy pick of them all for upgraded achievements.
