DC5 to S2000?

Its a 52 plate, can't you see the pics?

52 = September 2002 until February 2003. This is a 2003 car.

I can't see how that makes sense about owners from you, someone who doesnt care for milage.

I like to buy a car thats been cared for by a single owner, perhaps two on an older car, for a long period of time irrespective of how far they've driven them. It is my opinion that to many people a car is worth to them what they've paid for it, and the cheaper a car gets, the less the 'value' of the car to the current owner if he's recently bought it and the more likely corners are to be cut.

I've no idea why but I just dont like the idea of owning a car owned by a string of people some of who only kept it for a while before getting board/selling it before it needed tyres/whatever reasons people keep cars for 37 seconds for. I'm prepared to accept it might well be irrational.

Ok, there are exceptions to everything but the guy who spent £35k on his car you would think would be more inclined to spend what it needs etc etc than somebody who picked it up for 5 grand.

I guess though the S2000 remains a high value car even as they age so even the 3rd owner would have paid a pretty penny which makes my opinion less relevant in this thread, but nethertheless number of owners is very important to me when buying a car, far more so than mileage. Infact it makes higher mileage more acceptable, becuase the car wasn't bought as a cheap high mileage hack like many of the 7 owner 130k 3 Series doing the rounds, etc etc.

I'll be an exception then. I think I am the 5th owner of my '99 Civic and do think I'll be selling it at the end of the year, despite it having been good to me. Nothing wrong with it; I just fancy something nicer. Doesn't mean I'm going to stop looking after it - still going to wash/wax/remove scratches, not rag it and still do all the maintenance as necessary. I think number of owners is not high on my list of concerns, but then I'm only looking at cars sub £5k.

You sound like me. We are in the minority of car owners. Most people on this forum will be like this - we take an interest in cars which is the first step IMHO.

Mine has one owner that did 72k in 3yrs. Registered to a company director and he probably sold it as the warranty ran out. It then had 2 owners before me. The second must have bought it standard and then modified it with the bodykit and wheels. The 3rd one had bought it maybe 2 months before but wanted to get into drifting, the S2000 needed a rollcage which he didnt want to fit as it would ruin the car so he went for a 200sx

I looked at the history rather than the number of owners, 3 is certainly not a high number with these cars IMO. I agree though anything over 5 would make me a bit concerned, not due to the number but the lack of history.

I guess its probably a bit different with a specialist interest car like an S2000 but in cars where Mr Ordinary or Mr Bling Wannabe could well be a potential owner, I'd prefer as few owners as possible. Ideally I'd like to buy it from its original owner.
