Strange happenings

I don't have any advice unfortunately. But my daughter, when she was about 3, kept telling us that at night the shadows came to her and they weren't friendly. Got us spooked for a while.

It could be worth getting someone to camp out in the room for a bit and see if the source can be tracked down at which point it can be explained to the kid, if it's explainable, or legs can be put in to run-away-fast mode if it really is paranormal.

Quite possibly physcioligical(some one please spell that?), how does he get on with his real father? Has he always saw him a lot. Most possibly a over hyper imagination and a home that isn't his and doesn't feel comfy in there as he would at 'home'.

Thats my thoughts any possibly absolutely useless.

It's said that kids very often see things that adults don't. When my two were a lot younger they both often said that they'd thought they'd seen a dog in next doors garden and when they described it, it was exactly the same as the next door neighbours dog which died before they were born. The dog is buried in the garden and neither I, Mrs. Feek or the next door neighbour had ever mentioned it to them.

that is weird.. either a coincidence or definitely a ghost lol

Tell him to man up, ghosts can't hurt you. :D
I enjoy the idea of paranormal, I don't wholy believe or disbelieve it. But I've seen and experienced wierd stuff over the years. It's a thrill.

I remember when I was a young I saw what looked like someone standing over my bed, it was a black shape basically.

Not wishing to cause too much concern but seeing lights/tinsel/drips that suddenly disappear is often a sign of intensive brain activity: notably in stroke victims but I imagine the same applies to children who are undergoing substantial brain development- especially around sleepy time :)

I'd see if it would be possible (although unlikely) to camp with your boy in said room one night- even if you couldnt explain things or see anything it could well give your lad the comfort he needs and a new found bravery :)

Without going down the whole route of "It must be ghosts" does he have a nightlight in that room Gilly?

I know you can get the ones that plug into the wall socket and they release a dim glow which is supposed to provide a more content / relaxing environment for the child?

To be honest, sounds fairly classic symptoms of a haunting. However, as that only really describes the symptoms, not the cause, it's not much help.

Will O' Wisps. Either caused by a build up of gas (normally marsh gas, anywhere near an old mine or marsh?) or an apparition of some kind of evil spirit.

Children are often more in tune with the supernatural but they do also have very vivid imaginations and can use them to cover up more mundane events. Perhaps there is some tension between him and his genetic father or some tension between the parents?

set up a night vision video camera pointing at the corner where your lad says he sees things and see if it picks up any thing.

Take his temperature when he says he is seeing this stuff. When I was around that age, I used to talk about 'strange' things. It was later found out that I had been hallucinating due to having a serious temperature, caused by tonsillitis. For some reason the docs didnt pick up on the tonisillitis for many many years.

Won't pick up anything if it it is of supernatural nature nor will it help if the child is using it as a loci for some psychological problem.

Oh god, stop with the paranormal mumbo jumbo. There's probably a perfectly rational explanation for this.

Sure it more than likely has a perfectly rational reason but to entirely discount the supernatural as mumbo jumbo does is narrow sighted.

Children are more in-tune with the supernatural. See Feek's post and he is a very rational stable gentleman.

When I was a kid about that age I used to see exactly what he's describing, blobs of light that would float about the room when I was in bed.

I've no explanation for it other than I grew out of it.

I used to see something similar but more circular snake type objects sounds simlar thing. Same jokester I just grew out of it. Weird though
