24 (The TV Show)

love 24, the writers strike has delayed this years season until next jan so i'm getting withdrawl symptons! I prefer blitzing a season over the course of a week, but I just can't resist watching them weekly on their first airing. The new season sounds like a slight departure from previous ones which is a good thing in my opinion, it maybe needs refreshing a little, I just hope the two year gap means that they have had the oppotunity to make it even better.

Love 24, looking forward to S7, lets hope its better than S6, S6 was dire.

It would also be nice to see some realism in Jack, you know,, a cup of coffee, a slice of pizza, even a visit to the little boys room over the whole 24hr period.

My best characters so far:
Aaron Pierce
Habib Marwan
Chloe

They had a scene where he ate a slice of pizza but it was cut out.

I found it really boring a predictable after a while. Something bad happens, there is a a big baddies behind it. They catch the baddie, who works for and grasses on a bigger baddie, who works for a bigger baddie, rinse and repeat. I really could not care less if Jack had died, I found the minor characters far more interesting.

This series has nothing on The Wire or The Shield. HBO for the win.

I wouldn't compare the wire to 24 - completely different show. Whilst I agree the wire is superior it's like comparing steak to a mars bar.

Must get hold of the shield, looks v good.

Season 7 looks good mainly because of the bad guy... Series 1, 2 & 3 were brilliant, however after that i started getting terribly bored of it.

Hopefully season 7 will be good

Series 1, 2 and 3 were some of the best TV i've ever seen. Season 4 was nowhere near as good, but season 5 was much better. I'm still undecided on season 6. I still haven't bought the boxed set of that one.

I enjoy it but Prison Break has dwarfed it to me... it's amazing.... started last week and I'm already almost finshed series 3 (school holidays, not a great deal to do).

Literally brilliant; very unrealistic, but gripping beyond belief; every episode is a horrible cliffhanger and just MAKES you watch more...

I thought prison break went down hill after the finale to season 1. It started off brilliantly and descended into a farce as they decided to make it into a bigger series and ruin it. Still watched it though!

I'm just about to start the last disc of season 6, and it really is awful! The best thing about it so far is a 5 min guest appearance by Michael Shanks. It's starting to bug me that they will bring in a bad guy who either has a history with Jack or has been doing stuff for the whole season but you've never heard of them until their part comes up.

For example, the last episode I watched had a bad guy who had apparantly been taking information from someones PDA the whole day, but he wasn't even shown in the background until they realised there was a leak.

As someone else said, the format is starting to wear thin. You can tell that a bad guy isn't really important if they're in charge in the first 12 hours, and it always takes at least that time to find out what's really going on.

Am I the only one who fancies the pants off that contract killer/asassin type girl with the long dark hair? She looks amazing in S4 (and that bit near the end with her and curtis - without spoiling anything is amazing!!!)

Yup i agree as well, its when series are only written to last a season or 2 then due to success they make more but don't put as much effort in. Or in the case of Lost they dilute the story and add a lot of filler to spread it out.

24 is one season i really hope this doesn't happen to. I did read an interview with Sutherland a while ago and he was saying he was getting tired of doing 24 and wants to work on something else . \i think his contract is for another 3 seasons but I'm not 100% on that. I suppose it'll have to come to an end sooner or later and i doubt there is any actor that could take his place.

Oh yeah shes hot, along with most the females in the show. Really liked that Claudia from season 3?

What can I say, I am totally blown away by this series - I am literally totally hooked and its all I can think about! I just finished watching season 4 today.

Are there any other 24 fans here? Does it get better in season 5 etc? I don't think I've ever gotten attached to characters in a TV show before but its happened now!

Is Tony Almeida there for the next 2 seasons?

Watched the 1st one but then couldn't really face season 2.

I just think it was the clock ticking very 15 mins that did my head in.

Does it do this on the boxset?, or is it just for the adverts on tv? I highly recommend getting a boxset, its rubbish watching on tv with ad breaks and having to wait a week for the next episode.
