Is MGS4:Guns Of The Patriots for PS3 worth buying ??

I believe you download them over the PSN store on the PS3.

I played MGS2 after the first and that was definitely guilty of it so I don't see why people saying the same of the 4th should be penalised.
Cut-Scene wise they are pretty good so far, but from what I've seen so far I preferred the cut-scenes of Uncharted.

Gameplay wise, an hour in and I've played better, but gonna start again.

I meant that if people had played previous titles they would understand that MGS has been heavily story based from the start with 4 being no different. Ive been a fan since the first MGS back in the PS1 days and 4 is definitly one of most favourite, gameplay and story had me going wow pretty much all the way through! No other game I can think of this gen has matched this sort of depth imo.

I enjoyed the first hour, but then got a DS3 (as you know) and then started other games, so I'm getting through those at the moment.
Then it's MGS4 time! :D
 
Hehe, i remember playing a japanese version of MGS1 on my mates PS1, when he wasnt too bothered about it. Got stuck on that bit before revolver ocelot where he tells you to look for the mis-coloured walls because i couldnt speak japanese! :p

They can, but I think someone who is new to the serious wouldn't be happy with the amount of cutscenes in the game. They won't care enough about the story because they just read it off the Internet and it's not the same.

Personally I loved all the cutscenes and at times I just wanted to watch how this epic story would finish. I was quite happy to sit back and watch Kojima and his madness, however as someone who is new to the serious I'm not sure if they would feel the same.

Oh wait, I thought this topic was another "Should I buy a PS3 for MGS4?"

I would play the old metal gears again because they're still incredible and then buy MGS4. If you can't be bothered though then just buy MGS4. Even if you don't get the story it's still a great game.

You guys suck. I'm actually on the edge, about to buy a PS3, regardless of Backwards Compatability, just for MGS4! I've been so good for months, and yet, I come into one thread - and I'm about to abandon my principles (and possibly the rent for the next few months)!

No. Not imo.

Ive played it for a few hours and hated it. For me its so bad that its funny.
But thats just my opinion.
 
Definately YES 110%%%%!!! Best game i've ever played! I will never sell this game. I cannot wait for all of the games to be put on PSN. Hope they're all full 1080! 10 years of gaming and i can't say any other game could be half as good as this.

The sp game is ace and then you even have online to kill sometime with afterwards which aint half bad :)

The OP asked for peoples opinions on it.
And ive given mine. Just because a few of you dont agree with it is no reason to question it.
My opinion is just as valid as the people who say its good.
 
I find it hard for anyone that is into gaming not to dig the first few hours of MGS4. I mean, the first 30 minutes has an intense confrontation with walking robots. :D
