Is MGS4:Guns Of The Patriots for PS3 worth buying ??

the game features as much cutscenes as it does actual game play. it (well, the series) is unique and no, not everybody is going to like it because of that, if nothing else.

Yeah game length is above average and you get the LOTRs triology for free.
I find it hard for anyone that is into gaming not to dig the first few hours of MGS4. I mean, the first 30 minutes has an intense confrontation with walking robots.
Some people simply think it isn't that good, and I'm one of them. Act 1 was one of the dullest gaming experiences I've ever had, although I will admit I just got to the start of Act 2 and the environment looks quite promising, so maybe I will start to enjoy it more. But to say you cant be a proper gamer, or be into gaming because you aren't fapping over it is a very snobbish comment.
I also maintain the controls are crap, especially during firefights. The part where you join up with Rat Patrol and work your way through the building was so clunky it was embarrassing for what is supposedly one of the best games ever. The cover system just doesn't work when using a firearm IMO.

I got this the other day and I admit I am only a little way in to Act 1, my first impressions were "Wow, there are a lot of cut scenes"
Does the amount of cut scenes reduce at any point? I am hoping there were lots just to introduce the story (which I do not understand in the slightest)

I've had no problems with the controls at all in MGS4. The other games were hard to control but MGS4 is a lot more natural to control. The cover system is no gears of war, but it doesn't need to be. I actually enjoyed ACT 1 more than ACT 2 & 3.

Ive said it enough times, MGS is heavily story-based! If you had played previous titles you would realise its unique style from the start and you would know what you were expecting when you brought 4. I couldnt get enough of the cut-scenes tbh and the gameplay was second to none. Maybe I approach gaming differently but not once did I think these controls were clumbsy or this would have been better etc. This and the amount of depth within the game geniunely brought me to the conclusion that this is one of the best games this gen. (imo)

I don't agree with what people are saying here, I have expressed criticism against the PS3 only once the other day (on firmware 2.4) and I was blasted as a 360 fanboy despite not having done or said anything on that matter for months. Some people here really need to **** off. If I ever made moderator of this forum, there would be a LOT less petty bickering and namecalling.
