Tell him to do one, as already said, this needs to be nipped in the bud.

Tell him you own the area he is using and politely ask him not to park there in future, if he has a problem with it then show him the deeds to the land.

Problem sorted.

I would think that the neighbour owns the equivalent but of land in front of his own house?
 
I think in your situation it would be worth buying a lockable post, and putting some fixed posts around the sides if it's open. Should be able to do it all for less than £100 and a bit of effort.

I think that's the best idea i've read so far, shouldn't take much effort to get a couple of posts that you can drop down when necessary, if he tries to break them then he's down for criminal damage.
 
Why don't you put up a sign saying there's a charge to park there, You could make some cash. But I couldn't see him paying to park there, So chances are the space would sit free.
