Was it a busy day? Did you have to queue between runs? If not, maybe that's why you suffered. On all but one of the days I've done we get a few minutes of wait time between runs so the tyres cool down. On the really quiet day I could have just kept going as there was only two cars on track!

You don't need a lot of throttle in the CSL, and I do the whole thing in 2nd gear (I start in 2nd)

Shame you knackered the tyres though - hope it didn't spoil the day. If you'd asked me beforehand if you'd wreck the tyres I'd have said 100% NO!

wasnt a busy day, 11 cars total, so at times you could just keep going round.

kept it in 2nd all the way around.

the tyres would have been on the wear limts anyway so would have needed replacing, just wanted to change tyre brands and also get a better price on them etc.
 
out of interest how much are them drift days at oulton park?

Also, unless you're as happy as tomo with his right foot, im guessing they put relatively very little strain on the car vs a proper track day?

Usually £125

Not much strain because the surface is a special polished low-grip surface.
