how wthe hell do you turn off a 360 controller for the pc?

Ouch, I was gonna buy a wireless one to replace my wired one but if there's problems having other USB devices plugged in then I won't bother as I've got plenty of things constantly plugged in via USB.

The problem I have with my wired controller is that the cable is so god-damn flipping long it's unbelievable. I guess console players sit on their sofas 20 foot away from their XBoxes but I sit pretty close to my PC so I don't need a cable that long really. I wish they'd made a version specifically for PC with a decent-sized cable instead of just flogging the console version as being compatible with the PC too.

you can use a max of 4 devices. It tends to prefer a usb slot once you install it. Also intall the drivers and update them so that it works fine. I get rumble to in bio shock

yes i have plenty of usb devices too but no problems so far, well the probs ive mentioned but they are not due to having plenty of usb devices

thats a unique problem.

Its not unique, check the xbox forums - its a widespread issue. a lot of people have had to resort to purchasing mains powered usb hubs just to get it to sync, which I keep meaning to do (although its annoying because you shouldnt have to resort to that).

Slightly off topic, but can you use more than one xbox controller with one wireless PC reciever?

Cheers,
PK!

A 2 second look at the product page online would answer this. You can add up to 4. :)

Use a cable tie or elastic band? Sigh.

Are the people with the problem plugging the receiver into a USB hub or the USB port on the Mobo in the first place.

I have had problem with my USB hub on some devices but my new mobo has enough ports that i don't use the Hub no more & don't get the problems like i used to.

my logi rumble used to go in stanby mode which consumed hardly any power.

this stupid 360 controller doesnt even turn off when computer shuts down. it just flashes and flashing wastes battery power....whats the deal? how do i turn it off without taking the batt off?

cheers
Wastes battery power? I have a wireless one on the original 2xAA it came with and it still is full and I got it on release of GRID so that's saying something. It auto turns itself off after a set amount of time too.

All my USB ports are in use too and I don't have any issues at all :)

I use the Play & Charge kit and mine seems to drain quite quickly... I thought it would last longer than it does. Unless the battery reporting tool isn't that accurate?

I would apologise but I'm clearly far too lazy to do that...

PK!

No need to apologise, just make sure it doesn't happen again. :p

I don't think the battery "pack" lasts as long as a set of decent alkelines really. The reporting tool is no different than the XBOX360 one. PC USB ports aren't really high enough powered to charge devices that fast are they?
