E90 - Why no LEDs?

They looked good on the E46....and noticed today that none of the E90s have them :eek:

Are they an option no one chooses?

I don't remember them being on the options list when I specced my e91 last year (I assume you mean the rear light clusters?)

They have to leave something out that they can add in the facelift

Yep, expect some in the facelift model. I have a facelifted Z4 and it has LED rear lights unlike the pre-facelift. It was the same for the E46 and E60/61 etc.

They will be in the new Facelift E90 which will be out at the end of the year

Good, I hate these stupid things with a passion. Sitting behind one of these at some lights or such at night when they are sitting on the brake usually results in burned retinas, so damn bright they are completely OTT.

Yeah but better for the owners. Makes their cars more visable in the dark and they don't worry about having to change the bulbs.

LED lights are the way forward.

yeah i hate being able to see when someone is breaking.

I like the E46 LED clusters. Did all M3's have them or was it an option?

I didn't think the M3 was facelifted? Or am I wrong?

It never gained the "facelift" headlights, but the car came out after the e46 facelift.

Early M3s didn't have them. The first M3 came in about 1 year before the facelift.

m3's didnt have them as standard

and yes there's no facelifted m3

it came out after the saloon facelift, but the saloons never got the LED clusters anyway. The coupe was facelifted in 2003, so early m3 as rilot said didnt get the LED clusters

They mean proper LED clusters ala E46 facelift. CELIS isnt really the same thing.

It's rear lights which are LED's how isn't it the same thing? It is the technology BMW use for the rear lights on most of their models now.

While they are both lit via the same means the CELIS lights look completely different..

Yes when I was talking about the LEDs on my Z4 and the E60 I was talking about the CELIS type.
